Talk:Smart AI
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Has anyone thought about how Cortana in the last cutscene after the credits says she will wake the Master Chief, but there is no mention of her having a limited lifespan, and they seem to think that she will live forever and be able to wake Master Chief whenever?
- Well, since she's technically sort of a program, she can theoretically live forever as data, and she can probably stay online as long as there's sufficient power. Seeing as she has a huge chunk of ship for power, she probably will be able to last a long time =@ Phil.e. [Talk to me] 04:37, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Deja[edit]
Has anyone noticed, that on this page Daja is listed as a smart AI but on her page, she is listed as a dumb AI.?--Lt. CommanderCOMM 00:45, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Seven years.[edit]
Isn't the lifespan of seven years just a general number. I haven't read the book in awhile, but I am pretty sure that it was worded rather ambiguously. I think seven years was just a safe number to use, but AIs could could theoretically go rampant long before or after that time. XRoadToDawnX 13:44, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Rename the page[edit]
"Smart" and "dumb" have always been informal monickers. As far back as I love bees we have also gotten "volitional" and non-volitional". The latter descriptors do not come with quotes and volitional is a term 343 has used repeatedly over the past few years to refer to "smart" AIs. Volitional is the correct formal term, not "smart".TheEld (talk) 02:09, August 9, 2019 (EDT)TheEld
