Actually, moving the articles from Halo Wikia to Halopedian.com is easier and faster than you think. ;)

Joke aside, it all depends on how big the articles are and the amount of files. One cannot say a wiki has a limited amount of articles. One can say, however, that a wiki has a limited data space. How to define data space? *shrugs*
Templates are being imported/updated slowly here by me. Of course, they are/will be more updated than the ones you see in Halo.Wikia. I don't think anyone would care to update those articles, other than Forerunner of course.
I'm doing quite nice in RL and in halopedian.com. A lot of freedom here, though I need to learn how to customise Vector skin.
