I suppose so. But for me, there is a slight difference. I am not a perfectionist, I do not believe in absolute perfection. The only thing (or rather, the only one person) that is absolutely perfect is the Christ. But religion aside, all I really have are perfectionist tendencies. There's a difference. Also, I didn't actually download anything. I watched the YouTube videos without downloading them, as I knew I would lose quality and the videos would be blurry. And I only download videos from YouTube I intend on watching over and over, just for the sheer fun of it, and also, unfortunately, with longing, too. So, no, I still think my screens are pretty good, hardly even blurry at all. No different from yours. In fact, aside from the difference in size resolutions, mine are no more blurry than yours. So what's all the fuss?
Oh, and you might as well know this too...I used only trusted sources too, and even though it is just on YouTube, when the mode is set to, as I said earlier, 720p or 1080p HD modes, they did turn out great, not blurry at all. I made sure the source is from Halo Waypoint. Unfortunately I can't say the same for other screens I've taken. But, under the circumstances, they turned out all right. Please don't be angry with me, I'm only trying to help! :-)
(Corrected Message) Oh. Those files. Well, when I watched those videos from Halo Anniversary, I set the mode to 720p or 1080p or whatever HD mode was available at the time (and the screens turned out great, btw), both of which is high-definition for YouTube. And I did compare the screenshots I uploaded against yours. My screenshots are no different from yours. There is no such thing as absolute perfection. And I might add that some of your images appear to be slightly misaligned when compared to those of the short movies. Not that I'm trying to provoke you or anything. I honestly don't think we need to argue about this. Can we please let the matter drop?
Are you talking about the images in your PhotoBucket? If so yes, and even then, you don't need my permission where your PB account is concerned. But if you're referring to the image saved here on the wiki, no, leave it as it is for now, until I can finish the other one. The present image file looks fine the way it is. Not everything needs to be absolutely perfect.
Did you get all that concept artwork from Awakening: The Art of Halo 4? I'm assuming you did. Right? If so, I gotta get a copy of my own!
Thanks for the links to the new images. I'll try to fix them up and get them ready as soon as I possibly can.
I did. I can see a slight difference. But as for your image, we could use that, except that when I try to change it from grey to black, the text itself especially becomes rather deformed. I strongly believe the problem is due to the image being in Indexed Color mode rather than in default RGB mode. As I've said before, I tried changing it myself from Indexed Color to RGB, but it did not seem to have helped much. When I tried again to convert the colors from grey to black, it left some grey areas on the outer and inner edges of the image. I did the same thing while in Indexed Color mode, the shapes looked okay, but it warped the text, making it look rather bad. How many different ways do I need to say this? Must I go on? If you could somehow fix this dilemma, then that would be absolutely great.
I was able to find one that is identical to the one you suggested. But the image you suggested was a little hard to convert to black-and-white, due to it being in Indexed Color mode. Converting it to RGB mode didn't help; it only made it worse. See my previous message for details. Subtank told me the image has the text slightly misaligned to the right. I'll try to find a way to fix it if I can, unless someone else beats me to it. For now, just a placeholder image is available until revisions can be made and uploaded.
I tried to do it, but the result came out kinda weird. Some gray areas that just wouldn't go away. I think it might have something to do with the fact that it was in Indexed Color mode. I changed the mode to RGB, but that's when it started looking weird. So I tried it without converting it to RGB mode but keeping it Indexed Color mode so as to make it a little easier to make the necessary changes of the grey to black. But the result still came out rather weird. A little less weird than before, but not as seemingly perfect as I'd like it to be. You could try uploading it again without it being in Indexed Color mode but in RGB mode, and that might (and I stress might) solve the problem. Or we could both wait till someone uploads the corrected image as an SVG or PNG or something. Either way, I don't think you or I can solve this problem overnight.
Hey, Kronos, I have an image for you that I need replaced with a larger closeup screenshot, preferably a little straighter than the one provided. You can either upload as a PNG over this file or you can upload the screenshot to your PhotoBucket, but please make it nice and big. See my previous message for reference. Thanks.
Hey, Kronos, if this alright by you, I'd like to pass on a little bit of advice, a sort of preference. Next time, could you try to make your screenshots in your PhotoBucket a little bigger, preferably something like 1920x1080, or 1536x1024 is an acceptable size. Just for future reference. Thanks.
Hey Kronos, I have something I'd like you to do for me. I want a couple screenshots of the Spirit dropship from Halo Anniversary, from the end of the level Truth and Reconciliation. The screenshots are to look a little bit like this first image and like this second image. You can upload them to your PhotoBucket account or onto the wiki, whichever you like. I know you're busy, but could you please get to those other screenshots sometime next weekend? Thanks.
Oh, and if I might make a suggestion for your next PhotoBucket upload: name your images with something other than "untitled". No need to reply if you don't want to. I'm just making a helpful suggestion.
Apologies, I didn't mean to sound harsh or anything. But yes, that is acceptable for the moment. Thanks for replying so soon. And thanks for your answer to my request regarding your PhotoBucket account.
I forgot to add: How do I access your PhotoBucket so I can view your albums and see what else you might have?
Oh, one other thing: that PhotoBucket album with the image of HCEA Longsword in it, I presume that is yours? In the URL it said "unlistedvermin", which if memory serves, I believe is your Xbox LIVE username. Is this true?
Hey, I hope you intend on getting around to taking and posting those screenshots soon. I know the school year is about to start up, or at least it's about to over here in the USA, but I'm not entirely certain the UK is on a similar schedule, though I suspect it might be. Point is, and please don't take this the wrong way, I'm starting to get a bit impatient. Sorry, but it's the truth. I hope there is some way for you to make time in your schedule to do it, and hopefully get it all or at least most of it done fast, so you can return to your other work, studies, or whatever it is that you're doing now. Do try to make this happen, please. Thanks.
Yes, that will do, and that (the ending) is precisely what I was talking about. Thanks. Please get to those other screenshots as soon as you possibly can.
Hey, Kronos, I have a quick request to make of you. Could you a get a high-resolution, head-on screenshot of the C709 GATL1 Longsword Fighter from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary? I tried to do it using the the HCEA videos on HBO, but I couldn't find a way to blow up the Quicktime video. Can you help?
Oh. I see what you mean. But I think it'll be okay. And yes, there is no rush, not when you're juggling your studies with time here on Halopedia. Good luck with your studies, and if possible, try to hurry it up a little, too.
Oh wait! Never mind. I took care of the knee part. But for the foot part, well, that was rather tricky. As I said before, there is too much shadow obscuring the details and outline of the foot. I took care of it as best as I could, just as well as anyone could do in fact. The simple truth is, there is no such thing is true perfection. And I think we all (or at least most of us) know who is truly perfect. Take a guess! ;-)
Thanks for the message. I did the best I could, and it seems as perfect as it is gonna get. Besides, there is some difficulty in doing this cutout, as there are too many shadows that obscure important details. It's difficult, but I think what I have done already will have to do. Hopefully you will agree with my analysis of the image. I know you said you would upload some other screenshots from Halo 3: ODST and some from Halo: Reach, but the question is, how soon can you do it, if you don't mind me asking?
Oh. Double darn. Guess I'm going to have to figure it out the long and hard way. Okay then. Again, thanks for answering my questions. You don't have Adobe Photoshop on your computer, do you?
