From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Hello. I appreciate you ensuring that your edits are given sources. Just wanted to let you know that we cite novels using the chapter number, rather than the page number. This prevents confusion when people try to track down a source in an inevitable reprint of the novels. We used to cite page numbers long ago for the original few novels, but now it's a hassle to fact check edits that cite them given that the page numbers in the reprints are often wildly different. Thanks!
Hi, please remember to keep in mind that we do maintain a comprehensive guide on how to properly cite things on the wiki. Additionally, in the vast majority of circumstances for written text media, you don't need to quote entire chunks of the text unless it's something that would be hard to pick up without being specifically called out. Thanks.
Oops, I didn't realise that the templates would be actually rendered in a message lol. Here's my message again, with the templates inside tags: Hey Editorguy! So, the reason why I made that change is fairly complicated. I made those templates many years ago now (the originals were on Halo Nation), but when I ported them to Halopedia after the merger, I didn't bring over the documentation (because I changed a lot of things, and generally speaking, the documentation of them on HN wasn't very good anyway). Eventually, because I kept procrastinating, CIA offered to write the new documentation himself about a year, and I accepted. Unfortunately, due to a few misconceptions and misunderstandings, some errors crept into the documentation, chief among them being the Section parameter. This is *NOT* meant to be used as the second parameter in references - i.e. <nowiki>{{Ref/Game|Game=Halo: Combat Evolved|Section=main menu}} would be an incorrect use of the template, and the correct use would be {{Ref/Game|Halo: Combat Evolved|main menu}} (yes, the templates - except Ref/Site - are intended to be used without specifying Game=, etc). Section was a special paramenter, for things like Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare and Operation: Spearbreaker ({{Ref/Game|HW2|Section=Awakening the Nightmare|...}}), or Broken Circle's two parts ({{Ref/Novel|Halo: Broken Circle|Section=Part One|...}}).
As a result, this update to the Ref/Game template deliberately removed Section and replaced it with Part, and created the error on all the pages so that we could go through and manually update them. We can't bot it, unfortunately, because that would just create the problem again - it has to be done on a case by case basis, to see which uses of Section were correct and which were wrong. Once we've finished fixing all usages of Ref/Game, I intend to propogate the changes to the rest of the Ref templates and do the same there, to completely remove the Section parameter from use. I know it's annoying, but unfortunately there's nothing else that can be done to fix the issue.

Bro Sanghelis harness is a powered exoskeleton . I do not understand that why you remove the Sanghelis harness from the powered exoskeleton article. It also boosts the speed and strength of its user, though it remains less effective than the human-made MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor.[1]

Hey, I was wondering about your recent edits to the Legion of the Corpse-Moon and Ravaged Tusks articles. Where did you find that Chieftains Deukalion and Ballas are "Legionmasters" and that their clans are instead "legions"?
The book refers to them both as chieftains and their factions as clans.
We do intend to, yeah, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been pretty busy lately (and it seems like that's going to continue for quite a while, sadly), but if you want to make a start on a hub for Halo 4, go ahead! The existing Halo 3 hub would probably be a good base to start off from.
I'll see what I can do! :)
And well yes. You can totally customise how each skin works for you. So much you can even add code. Me and Dab can totally help you out with that if you want.
- In a side note: Dont revert the Covenant logos. It was noted ages ago that the Ghost/Banshee logo in Halo CE was never said to be the logo of the Covenant. So best for us to avoid using it as such. Thought you'd like to know that. :D
Hey Editorguy,
I just made a proposal for a pretty wiki project over on the forums. It's pretty lengthy, but if you've got the time to read through it, I'd love to get your feedback on it!
Thanks,

Just a reminder we'd love ya on the Halopedia discord. xD Gotta buncha new folks who I'd think you'd love to discuss stuff with. (Plus a lotta wiki wide stuff you may wanna discuss.) https://discord.gg/W3HK45M
Hey
Your recent edits to the page "Insurrection resurgence" have been reverted, as there is not enough official backing to consider this conflict its own entity independant of the pre-Covenant insurrection. In the future, please refrain from instituting large sweeping changes like this without raising the issue on the talk page first, as often these changes can be potentially disruptive to the flow of the wiki if not handled carefully. If you disagree with this reasoning, feel free to contact me on my talk page, use the current Insurrection talk page or the Halopedia forums to lay out a Page Move proposal, or join our Discord to discuss the issue thoroughly with the Halopedia team and community.
This is the last time you will be warned for such actions, any future issues like these will be met with a temporary ban.
Thanks
Hi, please refrain from moving pages without raising the issue on the talk page first. Additionally, it'd be great if you could try avoid making new pages where the page content simply consists of "expand this section".
Thanks.
Hey, it'd be great if you could hold off for now on creating more pages for Battle of Installation 04 topics, especially if they're going to have no content in them. I'm collating notes at the same time I write the articles, so they're being worked through individually.
Thanks
No problem, thanks for the reply!
TLDR: Is his Reach appearance more similar to the CE/3 look? I would lean towards saying it's more like his other depictions, mainly due to the skin tone and hair/beard colour.
Yours is a fair conclusion, though upon more consideration, I'm starting to lean towards considering his Halo CE/Halo 3 designs outliers, with the rest of his depictions being grouped.
IMO, his design in Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo 2 Anniversary & Another Day at the Beach is consistent enough to be considered the updated canon depiction.
Maybe it's just me, but I see these designs as quite consistent when graphical differences are taken into account:

Compared to the much paler-skinned and lighter-haired Halo CE and 3 depictions:

We have precedent for characters appearing slightly younger/older, and/or with differing facial structures across graphical engines (Johnson, Hood and Miranda being the best examples) but none that I'm aware of for a character having a vastly different skin tone and much lighter hair and beard color.
Let me know your thoughts whenever you have the time, thanks.
Hey there Editorguy,
I'm writing to futher discuss the following:
"With the Installation 04 article, we use the design most consistent for the main image (Anniversary design was omitted as a 1 time thing). Going by the same logic, Stacker has the middle-aged bearded face in 3/4 games and the young shaven face 1/4 games."
Should we apply this same rule for characters main images? Applying the logic above, Rtas' Vadum and Miranda Keyes (for example) both have a consistent appearance between Halo 2 and Halo 3, and a different appearance in Halo 2: Anniversary. Despite this, both pages use the Anniversary depictions due to their higher quality. Should we not do the same for Stacker and change the main image back to his Another Day at the Beach depiction? (Which is well in line with both his original Halo 2 appearance, and his in-game anniversary appearance)
For your reference:
Proposed (and prior) main image from ADatB:

Get back to me when you have time and let me know what you think,
Jimmy
The screenshots are higher quality and it takes a century to upload but i managed to do it in the end
best of both worlds
The board formatting messed up, but "Category:Candidates for deletion" was supposed to be written after "remember to add"

If you remove an image from a page, please remember to add to the image itself so we can promptly get rid of it. Thanks.
Not sure if you been informed but a lot of discussions happen on the Discord. :) May help a lot when editing. I do hope to see you there as you do a lotta great edits.
Hey there, I don't suppose you know there the term "AN/PRC650C Muctar battlenet node" is coming from right? I have noted you added it onto the Infinite page and I am uncertain where that term is coming from.
For the old forums? Yep, cant post in em however. I also have several ideas to make them less confusing.
