Soell system

Soell is the star that Threshold, Basis, and Installation 04 orbit.[1] The star seems to be located near the rim of the Milky Way.[2][3][4]
Trivia
- The system is named in reference to Matt Soell, a former Bungie employee.[5]
- Prior to Halo: Combat Evolved's release, it was speculated that Soell is actually the star Iota Horologii, based on hints from Bungie that the star was somehow connected to the game's story, specifically a sign left in front of the Bungie Webcam.[citation needed] However, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and Halo: Reach show that Soell is located near the edge of, if not outside, the Milky Way; Iota Horologii is roughly fifty-five lightyears from Earth, well within the boundaries of the galaxy.
