Firefight Map
Should we mention the "different and new" firefight map that will be available, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for flood. —This unsigned comment was made by Spartan Jack490 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
I think it's worth a mention. From this Sparkcast (http://halo.xbox.com/Content/assets/en-us/Podcast/waypointrss.xml), I also believe that it might be Flood. They could have been joking, but Frankie and the other 343 members were hinting heavily at The Library. -TheLostJedi 16:07, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
I agree, but how would that be playable? Are they going to put it in the Reach matchmaking?--Bdgroot-117 04:40, 10 June 2011 (EDT)
- I got the impression the maps are just new Reach maps, on the Reach MM disc, like Mythic II was for Halo 3. Alex T Snow 04:52, 10 June 2011 (EDT)
- Quite so. According to the Sparkast I linked there will be another disc with the Campaign disc for Halo: CEA. That disc will have the 7 new maps, although they also spoke of a voucher code that will come with the purchase, to download those 7 maps, allowing players to play all of Reach's maps if they choose to. This could all be subject to change though. It's still a few months before the game's release. -TheLostJedi 20:21, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
How about the hold out point on the level Halo where you have to defend the marines, bungie hinted that might make an appearance.
Armour
- Is it just me, or does the MC's armor not look right ? ( Besides the helmet issue to which was already mentioned. )--H J Piepkow 13:00, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
Yes, but compared to how the Mk V looked in Reach it look's completely different. It just seems like they should have kept it they way the had it in Reach rather than change it again. --H J Piepkow 14:32, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
Is it just me or does it look like that clip from pre-Halo? Vegerot (talk) 14:42, 7 June 2011 (EDT)!
Aside from being too green, and having the shoulder plates being too large. it does look a lot like the original armor to me. 24.60.143.195 15:10, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
- Bumps (or whatever it is) on the chestplate and non-shaded visoh, I think.PatrickRus 20:15, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
It does look alot like the original, save for the chest piece which was the main thing I noticed that didn't look like it should. --H J Piepkow 02:10, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
I don't see why they didn't just take the basic SPARTAN model from Reach and outfit it with all of the Mk. V armor pieces... would have made a lot more sense if you ask me SPARTAN-347 13:56, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
Because it looks very different from the original Mark V, just compare the two and you will see what i mean. 24.60.143.195 14:38, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
343 said that the armor in the trailer is not the final armor, it would look alot difrent in the game. Nano flood 17:25, June 20 2011 (EDT)
Weapons and items
I'm really disappointed that they aren't really paying attention to canon here. The MA5B looks too much like the MA37 (in fact, I don't think they changed it at all) and the M6D on the cover art looks exactly like the M6G in Reach. They also copied some models from Reach like the Warthog's, Marines'/Army Troopers', and the enemies'. If so, why not update Chief's armor with Reach's model? Also, they're using Army Troopers from Reach instead of Marines. Gaaaw, why is a fan like me better at keeping canon than the people that make the game?--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 15:51, 7 June 2011 (EDT)
They have obviously retconed all ARs to look like that since the Fall of Reach reprint, and the army troops and marines look identical in Halo Reach. Also the M6D and G are rather similar in design and it's been 10 years since Halo CE—This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- The Marines in Reach have differently-colored armor. It's brown armor plating with olive drab clothing. The Army Troopers have all tan and some variations with brown. The G and D are very different, BTW. The D has a chrome finish, an extended magazine, and no underbarrel scope (its scope is on top).--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 16:45, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
It could just be that they were using them for the trailer and just haven't got around to re-doing the weapons for in game yet. --H J Piepkow 02:16, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
- Perhaps the Reach MA37 was intended to simply be a graphical update of the MA5B all along? Furthermore, it's entirely possible that the Army's armour used in Reach is a graphical update of the metal slabs worn by the Marines in the original Halo: CE. Of course, this does raise the question of what became of those sealed, fully-visored helmets worn by the Marine in Reach.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 12:44, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
- I assume that the Marines wore those enclosed helmets for nuclear/radiological protection; after all, the planet was being glassed only miles away. They would have no need to wear them on the Autumn, and when the ship was boarded, they wouldn't have wasted time getting special gear. They would have evacuated ASAP. --Courage never dies. 12:52, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
- Ah, good point, Braindenvl.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 13:41, 8 June 2011 (EDT)

- Blah, retconning the AR disappoints me. The old MA5 style has also been the Halo gun, I mean, when you think Halo you think MJOLNIR, Warthog, and Assault Rifle, those are the classics and I really hope they don't mess that up. That and the MA37 is ugly anyway. Think about the rest too, all of the Human weapons are different versions in Reach and CE, hell, the Shotgun isn't even the same gun at all! Though it would be okay to keep the M6G, because like some other people here I believe that the vast majority of the pistols used on 04 were the standard issue Gs, and only a few (or maybe only the one given to you by Keyes) were the Officer's D model. I'm really hoping they are placeholders and there will be actual graphical updated versions of the CE weapons instead of ported over Reach ones. Alex T Snow 16:30, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
I belive that 343 needs to go and look at Halo CE again --1-10 18:50, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
- They may just be using assets from Reach during the development cycle, in place of final graphics. If I recall correctly, that's what Bungie did in previous games during development, using older character and item models until the final version was complete. I agree, I prefer the look of the MA5B for a remake of CE, but let's not jump to conclusions of "omg they're retconning EVERYTHING now it is ruined forever!" Frankie has already said that the remade Mark V is still undergoing revisions that didn't make it for the trailer, especially the helmet, which looks radically different to the original. Who's to say the same isn't happening for other things, like the assault rifle? -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 21:05, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
- True, and I will assume (and hope) that's what they're doing, I've seen it with other games too. Alex T Snow 02:26, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
I guess I'm ok with them retconning the MA5B, but using the M6G model for the M6D is entirely stupid. It needs to have an extended mag and only the top attachment.--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 10:13, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
- Actually, having the bottom attachment might be better, cause the M6D was the only Human weapon in CE that was missing a flashlight, though it does need an extended mag... Alex T Snow 00:20, 13 June 2011 (EDT)
New multiplayer maps for Reach
I for the life of me can not figure out how to make a new article on this site, can some one make a new article for all the new remakes for Reach that we know about so far? —This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
No, as this is a REMAKE, if 343 keeps true to what they say, then we should be able to just use the old pages in regards to all gameplay related information. And we might be able to replace the current pics with new ones when the new game comes out. (Although I support this comment as far as that someone needs to make it more visible and easier to make new articles). Vegerot.
Um what? They are new maps for Halo Reach, they deserve their own pages as much as any remake does.
- Maybe, the Halo CE, 2, and Reach versions of Blood Gulch are all different in some ways, so they get their own pages, but if these are just the same maps with updated graphics, then no, they don't, and I'm pretty sure they are just reskins. Alex T Snow 05:28, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
Um Heretic is the exact same as Midship, besides look at Timberland and Damnation, they have some noticeable differences.
Halo 2 anniversary?
Seeing as they are making a halo CE anniversary game, will there be a halo 2 anniversary game with amped-up graphics or will it just stop at halo 1? And then if they make a halo 2 will there be halo 3 anniversary featuring ultra realistic graphics engines in 2016-17? where will this end? Just wondering... I am still waiting for halo 3 on pc personally. T34master 21:10, 7 June 2011 (EDT) t34master
The only reason they are doing this is because it's the 10 anniversary of Halo. —This unsigned comment was made by ArchedThunder (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Maybe on the 20th anniversary? : P SPARTAN-347 13:54, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
"When asked about the possibility of the same treatment for Halo 2, a 343 spokesman said "That's a good question... which I will be evasive on! Right now we're really excited to be talking about Halo: Combat Evolved."
Found that on G4's article they made about it. I don't know if that answers your question much though. :P Andrew996 14:01, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
It's highly unlikely IMO. If they made a Halo 2 Ann., then they would pretty much be required to make a Halo 3 Ann. and so on. Besides, Halo 2 doesn't need to be remastered, it's actually pretty good graphics-wise, even for this generation. Halo CE was good for remastering because it honestly looked like crap.--File:PENGUIN4.gifFluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 13:10, 11 June 2011 (EDT)
But fun crap! Vegerot.
But maybe a few years in the future, we will all be clamoring for a Halo 2 Anniversary, you never know. 24.60.143.195 19:01, 15 June 2011 (EDT)

The new helmet is strange, it doesnt look exactly like the old one. It doenst look smooth. 84.130.203.147 15:25, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
As of right now, it sounds like 343 is still fixing/redoing a lot of stuff in the game, the helmet and armor included. Hopefully the stuff we've seen so far isn't the final version SPARTAN-347 17:20, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
- They said they've already fixed the helmet. Alex T Snow 17:24, 9 June 2011 (EDT)
- True, also if you watch carefully, all of the appearances of Chief in the trailer aren't consistent. For instance, in the reveal shot where it switches from the old Chief to the new, his armour looks a bit weird. But later... freeze the frames around when it has a clip of online Co-op play. The Chief in that clip looks better. -TheLostJedi 20:26, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
...You know, another possibility could be that the Mk. V that we've seen in Reach (the whole suit, not just the armor pieces) is actually the Mk. V [B] (the privatized variant made for the SPARTAN-IIIs), and what we're seeing in Halo: Anniversary is the straight-up Mk. V SPARTAN-347 00:17, 19 June 2011 (EDT)
In regards to the pictures of new Marines
Are those... MA37 Assault Rifles? Vegerot.
That's what it looks like, sure hope not... 343 might just be using them as stand-ins while they're rendering the actual guns SPARTAN-347 23:10, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
Also, I think the marines themselves are just stand-ins - If you look at the photo, they're all identical, from armor tone to attachments, everything. If they were the finished models, they'd have some variations from one another, like they do in Reach. Unless 343 is REALLY lazy, of course SPARTAN-347 23:21, 12 June 2011 (EDT)
Judging from all the new fetures that were put in the game, that'll be a no. Vegerot
What makes you think that the MA37 will be in the Game? They have already redesigned the AR in the game to look more like the MA5B, Judging from early released material and material released at E3 '11, most of the Halo Reach assets are placeholders. 24.60.143.195 14:42, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
"no" as in "No, they are not lazy." Vegerot (talk) 13:58, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
I think that the weapon models used in the trailer are placeholders until they make the actual in-game model. --EDFan12345 18:49, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
They ARE placeholders, that's why you see the Halo 3 Flood in the Trailers/Screenshots. 343 Would not be so lazy as to re-use a 4 year old model. 24.60.143.195 18:58, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
Where are the Flood? Just curious, I didn't see any in the photos SPARTAN-347 23:33, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
You see them VERY breifly in the announcement trailer, the one where it says "that was ten years ago, this is now". 24.60.143.195 13:02, 18 June 2011 (EDT)
Achievments
As this game is coming out on the 360, are we to assume it will have a new set of achievments to go along with it? pestilence Phil, pestilence! 18:19, 13 June 2011 (EDT) Yes, in an interview with 343 they confirmed achievements: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riJUuSq4MZ4 BushWookieCamper
"You Still Remember That?" - Kill a Hunter in one shot with the Pistol. 24.60.143.195 14:43, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
Terminals
Were will the terminals be placed in the "new" campain?--Bdgroot-117 16:17, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
will anyone but this it seems like campaign and new maps for reach which will likely be released as dlc later on?butthead4
- According to Frankie, each level will have one Terminal to be found, and that these will be relatively easy to find and won't result in being killed while viewing it by nearby enemies. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 21:21, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
- What the hell is butthead4 trying to say? --Felix-119 14:46, 16 June 2011 (EDT)
- I have no idea "A Penny saved is a Penny earned" 14:49, 16 June 2011 (EDT)
You mine putting a reference on that, SpecOps? Vegerot (talk) 13:36, 17 June 2011 (EDT)!
- Interview with Dan Ayoub here, providing details on the terminals.
- Highlight:
- "Terminals debuted in Halo 3, it was text, it was a little difficult to find. So we're going to make the Terminals more accessible, they will be easier for people to find and we're going to use them to tell a story of the Halo ring, and if you find them all you may find that we've laid down some foundation for the other Halo game we talked about today."

Flood firefight
Is there anyone else other than me that is hoping for a firefight "3.0" that in includes the flood as a playable race in the sort of way that you can play as the covenant in halo reach as just a halo combat evolved anniversary only sort of thing as it is 10 years since bungie created perfection and if you think they should do this tell me your reason and details on how you would want it to work --Connorlawd 17:56, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
This is not a forum, and from a gameplay perspective, playable Flood are a bad idea because it would be overpowered and it would lessen the impact they have on the player's psyche. You can now side with an incredibly powerful enemy, how does that make you feel? 24.60.143.195 19:00, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
- Yeah, playing as them would ruin the creepiness, but I do hope you fight them. Alex T Snow 21:39, 15 June 2011 (EDT)
I agree to, does anyone hope for infection forms which would be able to infest dead players? I do...--Bdgroot-117 10:34, 16 June 2011 (EDT)
And also, if you've ever delved into the Halo: Combat Evolved code and switched your biped and actr codes with the Flood, you'd see just how hard it is to control a combat form. Vegerot (talk) 13:58, 16 June 2011 (EDT)!
- A simple control system for flood could be RT to fire weapon, LT to lunge, RB to melee with tentecle arm, A to jump regularly, Hold A to long jump or high jump, LB to eject and become an infection form. Then again it just doesn't seem practical for human play. --Felix-119 14:50, 16 June 2011 (EDT)
Flood
The main thing that struck me personally, was the Flood. I mean, they didn't appear in reach, so it only shows that they'll have to make all new graphics, correct? With that, I am wondering if the Flood will appear in Firefight, and if so, how will they appear. --~Jman98~ 17:36, 18 June 2011 (EDT)
Watch the trailer at 0:53. you can see flood. BushWookieCamper
The legs on the elite combat forms look like those of the Halo: Reach - style elites, so I'd say it's safe to say the rest of their design has been updated too SPARTAN-347 00:15, 19 June 2011 (EDT)
