The Jiralhanae Army Commander[1] was a high ranking Jiralhanae Chieftain. Possessing uncanny intelligence that complimented his violent nature, the commander was a dangerous foe despite his relatively small stature.[2][3]

Summary

This army commander served alongside Arbiter Ripa 'Moramee under the Prophet of Regret during the Harvest Campaign, although, as with virtually all Jiralhanae, possess a strong dislike of the Sangheili in general and 'Moramee in particular.[4][5] Compared to other Jiralhanae, the commander was somewhat of smaller stature than normal, but was still a quite capable master tactician. In battle, he wielded a gravity hammer and wore very resilient power armor.

During the campaign on Harvest, he grew to respect humans for their different nature and unfailing courage in the worst of situations, but he passionately disliked Ripa 'Moramee.[1] He enjoys eating thorn beast, which he prefers to be cooked rare, as well hearing exaggerated tales of his adventures, told by an overweight Unggoy who serves as his official scribe. In 2528, the army commander torn apart two Unggoy because his thorn beast was overdone and insufficient. The Unggoy were initially interpreted as five organic chunks strewn about his quarters.[4]

  • He is the only playable hero unit in the game to not appear in the Halo Wars campaign and is the only leader character who remains unnamed.
  • He is voiced by Marc Worden.
  • His leader card is the only leader card that has an image from Halo 3, or, for that matter, any game besides Halo Wars: a picture of a Brute Chopper on Sandtrap is used for illustration.
  • He may have held the same rank as Tartarus (prior to Tartarus' promotion to Chieftain), as Tartarus is described as wearing similar bright-red armor in Contact Harvest.
  • A Jiralhanae Chieftain within The Babysitter (one of the short films featured in Halo Legends), bears a very similar set of armor to him.
