Highland Mountains

Template:Ratings The Highland Mountains are a large group of mountain ranges at Eposz[note 1] of the UNSC's colony planet Reach. The Highland mountains are home to many facilities used by HIGHCOM, including Camp Hathcock, Camp Independence and ONI's CASTLE Base under Menachite Mountain. After the Battle of Reach, these mountains were the only area not glassed by the Covenant.
Other areas of the Highland Mountains include the Military Wilderness Training Preserve where Longhorn Valley, ODG Facility A-331 and the Big Horn River were located.
Wild blueberry bushes[1] and cedar trees[2] grew in the mountains, especially the Military Wilderness Training Preserve.

- ^ The planetary map of Reach that comes with the Halo: Reach Limited Edition has "CAS" marked in the central mountain range of the Eposz continent. Judging by how Sword Base's location is marked a similar callout "SWO", this places Highland Mountains, Castle Base and all nearby locations in the same continent.
