Well, the turrets are of Covenant design and the buildings look Covenant as well. My thought is they made a camp with plans to protect themselves from exposure of the snow (underground bases) and placed turrets to defend their base (the automatic turrets). They only fire at anything outside the encampment but not inside. P.S. I can imagine a glitch in Halo 3 where one can shoot all the way around or be turned around. Imagine the massacre in the map! Unless the battles stay close-quarters inside the bases.

Why is the overview at the beginning in so many damn short paragraphs? It should be just one or two paragraphs. I shall make the change on May 19, 2008, unless convinced otherwise.
