Headhunter (game variant)

Headhunter is a gametype appearing in the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta.[1]
Overview
Headhunter is a free-for-all gametype in Halo: Reach where players fight for flaming skulls which appear randomly throughout the map and return the collected skulls to their designated (but mobile) deposit zone.[1] When collecting the skulls, players will be tagged with an navpoint indicator above their multiplayer models which reveals the amount of skulls collected; if the player is killed, all of the skulls will be dropped and opposing players will be able to collect the skulls. Additionally, players will not be penalized for carrying the skulls and will be able to access all his/her weapons and abilities. The default game-winning score is 25. It's mainly about how greedy you are. If you wish to capture a skull everytime you pick one up, or try to go for alot of skulls at once to capture. Taking the risk may payoff, as if you score 10 skulls at once, the game will automatically end, similiar to a Tactical Nuke in Modern Warfare 2. Also, some players can become "janitors", killing all the players with skulls and taking them for yourself.

- Headhunter was a scrapped game variant for Halo 3. It existed during the Halo 3 Alpha, but was decided to be scrapped before the Halo 3 Beta was released.Template:Fact
- By default, Headhunter is a free-for-all gametype. A team-based Headhunter gametype is available to player in the Beta.[2]
