Ellen Anders

Professor Anders was a civilian passenger aboard the UNSC Spirit of Fire during the Second Battle of Harvest [1] [2].
The fact that she does not possess a military rank indicates that she is not a permanent member of the Spirit of Fire's crew, and is a civilian scientific advisor to the ship and its captain. One of the early levels in Halo Wars involves rescuing Anders from a Covenant outpost. She appears on the battlefield as a hero unit similar to Sergeant Forge. Her in-game abilities have not been confirmed, though it appears she may function as an "engineer" type unit on the battlefield [3].
