TARDS was tested in Industrial Zone 08 of Chicago, on the planet of Earth.

- The systems can be seen in the level Foundation. You can see "Abandon in Place " written on them, hinting that it was a failed project.
- The acronym TARDS is an possible joke by Bungie, given that it sounds like an abbreviation of "retards."
