M6G magnum
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Template:Weapon The M6G Pistol is typical sidearm of the UNSC.
Introduction
The M6G is the predecessor of the M6C Magnum Sidearm and the M6D Pistol, and is to be introduced in Halo 3 as the premier UNSC standard pistol. At present, little is known about it except that it is not in the Halo 3 Beta but is seen in the ESPN Halo 3 Commercial. Template:WepList
Summary
Little about the M6G's capabilities are known but it appears that the pistol fires high explosive bullets from an eight round magazine and has slightly less power than the M6D. It has a relatively fast rate of fire with good accuracy.
Appearances
The M6G is only found in Halo 3. At first, when it made appearances in leaked alpha-build games, and even later, when it appeared in the Starry Night trailer and the Halo 3 ViDoc: Is Quisnam Protero Damno!, it was claimed to be the M6D Pistol. However, in April 2007, it was confirmed by Frank O'Connor that the M6D would not be appearing in Halo 3, and that it would be replaced by the scopeless M6G.
Description
The M6G Pistol is a recoil-operated magazine fed magnum caliber handgun. From what can be assumed, it seems to fire High Explosive, Semi Armor Piercing rounds from an eight round clip. Although this small clip size is small for a weapon in the Halo universe, it makes this pistol look more realistic.
The M6G is the brainchild of the earlier M6 models, combining power, reasonable accuracy, and decent clip size- along with a stylish look.
The M6G has a chrome barrel and slide, with a black grip that is made of strong alloy and covered in durable rubber, making it comfortable in the users hands. The magazine appears to fit comfortably inside the grip, suggesting a small number of rounds per magazine. Like its predecessors, the M6G operates on the short blowback principle. Its rate of fire, overall damage per hit, and maximum ammo capacity seem to be a cross between that of the M6D Pistol and the M6C Magnum.
Combinations
The M6G is a decent weapon on its own
Beta Functionality
The latest leaked Halo 3 Internal Beta video has shown us a more accurate interpretation of the M6G. It can only carry 8 rounds and has no zoom (only bringing up your binoculars instead like in Halo 2). The most important aspects that were revealed is that the M6G is dual-wieldable and has a slower rate of fire.
