UNSC Centennial Orbital Elevator (COE)
A 200 year old antiquated Orbital Elevator. But by 2552, was only one of the few remaining heavy lifting orbital elevators remaining on Earth. The UNSC Centennial Orbital Elevator was located in Cuba, and was called by the locals, Tallo Negro del Maiz, the "stalk of black corn." This is because of its appearence, a line streching from the ground into the clouds.
The Elevator terminated at Station Wayward Rest, in Geostationary Orbit above the elevator. The station and the elevator were destoried when Blue Team detonated six FENRIS Nuclear Warheads aboard a Covenant Destoryer in close proximity to the station. The Station Wayward Rest was obliterated by the blast and the entire length of the COE crumpled and fell back to Earth.
