This weapon can be seen in the Behind The Scenes: Halo 3 Trailer video.

The Spiker is a Brute weapon in Halo 3, which fires two-foot superheated orange metal spikes, resembling needler projectiles. It is a dual-wieldeable weapon resembling a cut-down shotgun with two bayonets. Though its slightly more powerful that an SMG it has a much slower rate of fire.
