Could as easily be this British Sergeant Ranking Design

They used the British design!

Look at the Characters many ranks with Sergeant in them the lossest being Sergeant its self sound fermiler doesn't it.--Ryanngreenday 09:47, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

In the books the naval officers and Marine officers were the same rank Insignias just look at Captain Keyes's Medals on this site and in the first strike book the master chief see First Lieutenant Elias Haverson rank Insignia and salutes him--Ryanngreenday 10:01, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
