This is the U.S. Navy insignia for a Lieutenant, Junior Grade. The UNSC Navy uses the same insignia. [1]

Lieutenant, Junior Grade is a rank in the UNSC Navy. As a commissioned officer, a Lieutenant, Junior Grade, leads non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. The equivalent rank in the UNSC Marine Corps is First Lieutenant.

Style of address

  • Lieutenant, Junior Grade, are referred to as "Lieutenant" in informal settings.
  • Lieutenant, Junior Grade, can be abbreviated as: "Lieutenant (J.G.)" or "LTJG".
    • "Lieutenant (Jr Grade)" is an incorrect abbreviation.
