PENIS is up to something huge
Hi, you probably don't know me that well but this is important. PENIS and I go to the same school and are actually friends. He has told me a few things, which may be lies, which he feels he can get away with telling me. PENIS has a real account here and actually contributed to the site. All he said is that its name starts with a T. Also, he has been recruiting people to come here and vandalize. He may be bluffing, but today at my school, he was talking about it to a few pothers and that they should join him. If you ever need updates, info, answers or whatever, ask me and I will try to pry them out of him.--Gerzam File:Gerzam.jpg 21:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll keep it in mind. We've been observing some potential vandals lately, and I think we'll take him down easily. again. --ED(talk)(gaming) 22:25, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
RE: Rank on Sig
Wow! It's nice to meet another military enthusiast! (I do indeed know that's army. Marines would be gold w/ red trim and have rifles, I think) Since you are a ME, I'll ask you my standard question: What was the biggest invasion of WWII? (I know you'll get it right)
Regards!
File:Rank LtColonel.jpgSPARTAN-091 File:UNSC.jpg HelmetComm||Juliet File:Rank Corporal.png 00:28, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Why, D-Day of course. The biggest invasion in history, since Operation Olympic did not take place. One of my favorite things to study, really. --ED(talk)(gaming) 02:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, i never actually payed attention to your userpage, but i finally saw the ROTC stuff. I preparing to enroll in a JROTC, my Recruiter said it's part of the quickest way to become an Army pilot (flying Blackhawks).
I may join the cadets. Only thing I can join *curses his age*. I have an obseesion with WWII Germany, incase anybody cares. The Candian military sucks so much these days. And for the love of god the highest rank anybody in my family ever achived was my my grandfather on my dad's side, who died when my dad was 2, who reached Lietenant before he was Honarbly Discharged and then built planes for the war with my grandma. My other Grandfather was a Corporal and nearly died when a bomb blew up near by him.--Gerzam File:Gerzam.jpg 11:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah my family is strange. One siade has one person who served three years as a PFC in Colorado, but the side is all military; one Colonel in Military Intelligence, one surviver of the Bataan Death March, and one KIA in the pacific campaign. --ED(talk)(gaming) 16:57, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

User:Uncivil
Dear ED,
Please review the edits of this user, many of which are in violation of HP:CIVIL. I believe banning the user would be an appropriate step to take, as he:
- Is a new account of the known vandal User:UncivilGoth666, who was banned.
- Has made several personal attacks against other users, including the use of defamatory language.
- Has not heeded any advice I have given regarding this behaviour.
- He continued to make personal attacks, after being warned about making such attacks.
- Finally, and perhaps most importantly, he has primarily utilised this account for posting on talk pages, the majority of which, as I said previously, have been in violation of Halopedia's civility policy.
As I said, I believe banning this user would be appropriate. At the very least he has made personal attacks against Wikia policy, but taking into account his subsequent dealings with me, I believe a ban is warranted. Please contact me if necessary.
a jerk
i have someone who has made fun of me for stuff i don't do and he makes fun of my handicapted sister. he is a disgrace to all halopedia members. i think you would agree. he is killer crs. plz give him a small ban for what he has done
- Sorry, but the provocation for the incident comes from your account. Whether it was you or not who comitted the acts, your account is considered compromised by potential vandals. --ED(talk)(gaming) 17:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, man
Dear ED,
Thanks for deleting that vandal's talk page...hmm...you want to punish him and ban him for longer? ;-)

Oracle & Otherwise
Dear ED,
It's called the "Oracle" because I originally started it, and when I started it, I was known as "49 Proximal Secant", and was in an Oracle-like mood. ;-)
Furthermore, I'd enjoy having it official-lized with a nice namespace...however...it's your call. Thanks a lot for your offer, man! ;-)
Also...umm...about the vandal, we should discuss this privately. I'd like to partake some antivandal info to you privately. Can you log onto "#halopedia" on the IRC? Thanks!
Cheers,

- Not gonna lie, I have never used the IRC, but i will try and get on now. As for Oracle, your work page can just be moved to Halopedia: Oracle Newsletter if you want, I don't know exactly where your workspace for it is. --ED(talk)(gaming) 19:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Lock my userpage?
I just looked through the history of my userpage, and i noticed PENIS has vandalized my page many times while i was away on other wikis. Could you lock it for me?
- Also, i've noticed the User:TeamHazard has vandalized User:KillerCRS's talk edits, and now TeamHazard has vandalized the Imperial Admiral page, listing himself as one of the known Imperial Admirals. I'd say based on his past edits, it's only going to get worse, i think you should consider banning him for awhile. I'll check into his contribs to see if he vandalized anything else. I'll contact you again when/if i get more intel.
- PS: He edited the UNSCoH member list to make himself General and leader of the UNSCoH. He needs to be put down, sir.
- Your userpage has been protected. When you want it unprotected so you can change it, let me know. As For TeamHazard, its a blurry line because, from what i've seen of his edits, he hasnt made any personal attacks or vandalised any articles. I'll give him a warning and short block, and if he presists he'll get a longer one. --ED(talk)(gaming) 01:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Nono, he didn't attack anyone, he just vandalized pages to make himself more important, such as naming himself an Imperial Admiral and the leader of the UNSC0H. And according to Killer he's changing what others say.
PS: Thank you for protecting my page.
- Sir, User:TeamHazard deleted your warning/ban notice from his talk page, but before he deleted it, he wrote: "i rock dudes". I think he may try to vandalize again, you may to watch him in the future. I'll keep you informed if i see anything else.

Hmm, they hit my Half-Life wiki about two weeks ago, i honestly hate this new version. It has issues with the images, if you go to the actual image page, nothing appears. It's doing that on several other wikis i've seen. If you happen to find a way to fix it, please tell me how, i'd love to get the images working correctly again. Later.

1138, Uncivil, Manticore, oh my!
1138 here to explain myself. Uncivil and I are friends, in fact I give him a ride to and from school. One day he remarks that Manticore has been acting like a dick. He said the same about Phil.e and yourself, but on Caboose's talk page in a friendly message to her (they seem to be friends now). I figured that it was for the same reasons he said it about Phil.e and yourself. With Phil.e it was on the IRC. When Uncivil would log in Phil.e would say go away vandal and them boot him. As with you he made an account or two after he was done vandalizing and before he could do something you banned it. So I went to check it out and I read both sides of the conversation. And wrote the first paragraph of my message, which was ment to be a hey drop it its his opinion sorta thing. Then I looked at the history of the posts. Uncivil making his remark on May 10, Caboose archiving it, then on May 25 Manticore makes an issue of it. That lead me to think that Manticore saw it was UncivilGoth after he came back from his ban, acted rather over-zealous about it in an attempt to get him off the wikia. After I saw that and the Block logs saying that Uncivil was banned, undoubtedly because of Manticore, I made my little speach on his page. That's what I have to say. If you're going to ban me for my remarks, I don't really care, I'll pull a PENIS and make a new account and return to continue my work. I still think that Manticore was trying to get Uncivil out. I mean think about it, Uncivil called two people dicks on CABOOSE's page. If something was going to be done, ie a warning, don't you think the founder of the AVC would have done it?
In a side note what's up with the update? It sucks--File:GRAW.pngMCPO Spartan 1138 01:52, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly, the comments he, you, and everyone made fall under the auspecies of the GNU Free Documentation Lisence, and our own General Disclaimer. That means everything posted on this wiki at any time is published public information. There are no exceptions. as public information, any user here has the right to point out vandalism and defamation anywhere because this is a public site. Why Caboose didn't call him on it, I don't know. I don't pay a lot of attention to user interactions with one another, so I don't know Uncivil and Manticore's history with one another. But I doubt he had an agenda against UncivilGoth666 because as far as I see he really doesnt have anything to gain or lose from it.
- Secondly, about blocking. MediaWiki's new blocking format does not just block one acount, it blocks one IP Address. When I blocked UncivilGoth666, I didn't just block his name, I blocked his IP address. This prevents vandals from creating new accounts when their old ones are blocked. So, I didn't ban any of his subsequent accounts, its just that his block extends to any interaction he tried to make with Halopedia from his computer. The same would happen to you, if you are banned. There will be no new accounts. The only exception to this is when using an open proxy, with modulating IP Addresses, which PENIS uses. That is expensive software that is bought and programmed well to make the trouble that it does.
- Third, yes I hate this new software, we will have to adjust our coding once again, and half of our resident programmers are nowhere to be found. --ED(talk)(gaming) 02:54, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I see.--File:GRAW.pngMCPO Spartan 1138 03:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
If you need help programming, just ask me. I'm usually free, and i know HTML and some other types of coding. I'm not as good as RR at creating this stuff, but i can hold my own with the big boys. Just tell me what you need and i can test it on the Combine OverWiki (half-life) to make sure it works (as i can't edit MediaWiki here).
IRC Access
Hey, I've got a question... why does Relentless have level 10 IRC access, but I only have level 8? It's kinda weird, you know, with him being obsessed with POWAH!!!, but my run for administratorship, while lagging, is not failing like his? güéߣ¥-πéҐ∫øñ¥-†ħîИg¥ 04:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Heh. IRC has no affiliation with wikia, so our standings on them have no correlation. I probably have level 1 access there, and in the absence of Dragonclaws I'm the oldest Halopedia user here. I only ever used the IRC once. --ED(talk)(gaming) 13:35, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the actual IRC server (Freenode) has no affiliation, and simply provides a host for the channels, but Wikia are the guys who set up the channel and made it one of the few that you can access from their IRC client--that's why GHe is level 30, as he works for Wikia. Well, if I get admin stufflez here, I'll just ask him for that. Thanks anyway! =D güéߣ¥-πéҐ∫øñ¥-†ħîИg¥ 19:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Stuff with a userbox...
I'm trying to change the edit count userbox where you just put in a number so it just retreives a number automatically from User:Guesty-Persony-Thingy/editcount.js, but editcount.js doesn't run like User:Editcount/editcount.js does, so I'm just wondering, could you add the following to Mediawiki:Monobook.js, right after the similar section?:
//[[User:Guesty-Persony-Thingy/editcount.js]] if (document.title.indexOf('User:Guesty-Persony-Thingy/editcount.js') != -1) { document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + 'http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:Guesty-Persony-Thingy/editcount.js' + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); }
Then I'll be able to work on changing it to just display the total edits, with nothing else, and then I can just make the userbox use {{User:Guesty-Persony-Thingy/editcount.js?username={{PAGENAME}}}}, and it'll just display the exact number of edits here. Thanks! BTW, if I can't get it to work, you can just remove the section, an' stuff. Güéߣ¥-∏éҐ∫øñ¥-†ħîИg¥ 01:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
This is from Esemono's talk page... don't know why I asked him instead of you tho... =o Anyway, if you could do that, that would be just dandy and absolutemontly hunky-dory. =D güéߣ¥-πéҐ∫øñ¥-†ħîИg¥ 06:37, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
User:Spartan 1138
ED, I understand that you've been put in an awkward position, and I sympathise, but something really needs to be done regarding this user's edits to my talk page. Spartan 1138's comments were more severe, insulting, and hateful than any of Uncivil's edits, and you banned him for three months. I really would prefer a public apology over a ban, but as you don't have the authority to force him to do that, what choice do you have? I have no wish to continue any sort of feud with either user, but in reality all I did was warn a vandal, then report him. If you don't want other users to be put off reporting vandalism in fear of such retaliation, an appropriate response must be issued from Halopedia staff. Spartan 1138, if you're reading this, just drop by my talk page and end this now. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 08:28, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Understandable. I left him that choice on his talk page. --ED(talk)(gaming) 13:56, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I propose a third option. Just forget about it. I don't particularly want to apologise, but I don't want a ban either. How about I drop it all and Manticore does the same.--File:GRAW.pngMCPO Spartan 1138 02:01, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

ED, I completely understand the need to have users and not merely administrators decide on the fate of an article, but this particular one is a clear advertisement, and thus an act of vandalism. Don't worry about tagging it, just delete it :) -- Manticore Talk | CSV 13:20, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

GPT's RfA
Hey ED,
What timeline are we looking at for GPT's RfA? As far as I'm aware none of the current admins had RfA's and seeing as RR's didn't go well we don't really have anything to go by. Or are we going for number of votes more than time?
-- Manticore Talk | CSV 13:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, up until this point we had been to small to need RfAs, and I'm really the only one managing them. I'm going by 1) number of support votes and 2) all "oppose" points having been answered. GPT's RfA currently has 14 people for him, when our community has hundreds/thousands of usernames, and though most of them are transient users, I think enough people have gotten a taste of his style that they can vote. If we can get 30/40 people for HOTM every month, we can get that many for an RfA. --ED(talk)(gaming) 13:50, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree. I've added a notice to Current Events, so hopefully that'll drum up more interest. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 13:57, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

RR for admin
As we need more admins, I would like to bring up RR again. Although I want to be an admin, I am new and wouldn't get much support. RR has been here for many months, and has done many things to help. 27 people have voted for him out of 35. Despite previous issues, I really think he should be given a second chance to become admin. Also, nobody has voted in it for a while and that COULD be assumed that is pretty much all we'll get. A few votes against have also brought up a possible disliking to Esemono. Firstly, I belive that it only apeared that way as he was pissed about Esemono forcing a vote in the CoH. Secondly, Esemono and Dragonclaws are inactive/almost never here anymore, if even, and therefore the possible issue well, isn't an issue. Also on the basis of social power: Many users think that RR is an admin. Infact when I joined I thought he was an admin. RR also is a vandal fighter. He worked hard to enstate proper anti troll wikia policy to Halopedia and has support for administratorship from many central wkia admins. Therefore I think RR should be an admin, for whatever purpose. If you are concerned about power struggles, remember, you are bureaucrat, he would be admin. Also, if you are concerned about him abusing his power, contact central wikia and they'll remove his powers.--Gerzam File:Gerzam.jpg 19:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- Regardless of whether or not RR should become an admin, I have a question. Do Wikia staff have a say in whether or not his admin powers should be removed? Or do they just do what Halopedia bureaucrats tell them? Because, and this is not a bad thing, RR is quite friendly with many of the Wikia staff and central admins. So if they did have a say in removing powers, they might be more inclined to vote for him to keep them. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 02:29, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
CoH
Hey ED,
Its come to my attention that Donut is promoting users in the CoH for work on his other wikis (see the second notice on the CoH page). While it doesn't affect me, as I'm not a member, this sorta violates the whole point of it being the Covenant of Halopedia.
This whole idea disadvantages users if they don't play the games (or whatever) for his other wikis. I don't really get the whole idea of the CoH ranking system, but I know its supposed to be so Halopedia users can be proud of their contributions to this wiki. I just wanted to get some thoughts on the matter, whether or not you think its appropriate, etc.
Cheers, Manticore Talk | CSV 08:38, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have noticed this...I'm not entirely sure if it's ethical, but I'd suggest speaking to Donut THX 1138 privately, like through Special:Emailuser/Donut THX 1138, before bringing it up before all to see in Halopedia. Cheers, RelentlessRecusant TALK • WORK • SPEAK 13:03, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
