UNSC Herodotus

The Herodotus was a UNSC Destroyer stationed above Reach in 2552. When the planet was attacked by a massive Covenant fleet the Herodotus was involved in the ensuing battle, later called The Battle of Reach. During the fight, a Covenant Assault Carrier destroyed the Herodotus, using a previously unknown weapon. This weapon fired a needle-thin lance of Plasma at the Herodotus, from a distance of one hundred thousand kilometers. The powerful beam bisected the ship bow to stern.
