René was conscripted into the SPARTAN-II Program in 2517 and is not as well known as John-117 or the other Spartans John mentioned. When the time came for the Spartan augmentations, René became crippled and could not fight anymore. René was last known to be floating in a neural buoyancy gel tank, with his/her skeletal system twisted beyond recognition. The last time René was seen was on the UNSC Carrier Atlas. His/her current where abouts are unknown to date, even the gender. However, it is most likely that he/she would proceed to command the UNSC, as all who could not engage in actual combat went to command school.
