"Sorry, sir, but holy crap, you're a Spartan!"
— Jemison, upon seeing John-117

Private Jemison was a UNSC Marine from Third Squad, First Platoon, Kilo Company of E2-BAG/1/7.[1] In 2552, he participated in the Battle of Mombasa under the command of Corporal Palmer.

Biography[edit]

Battle of Mombasa[edit]

On October 20, 2552, Jemison and the rest of Third Squad were stationed in the Mtangwe Underpass, unloading equipment from M831 Troop Transports, when John-117 arrived. Jemison was rather awestruck by the Spartan, but immediately afterward, an Unggoy with a T33 LAAW attacked the Marines, only to be decapitated by a burst from Jemison's MA5B.[1] A reflexively fired shot from the alien's weapon also killed half of the other Covenant in the tunnel. Moments afterward, a Wraith emerged, prompting the Marines fell back into a sewer tunnel, through a hole opened by the stray fuel rod blast. Jemison was the last to make it into the sewer, falling back whilst firing back at the advancing Covenant. He could not make it far enough into the tunnel before the Wraith fired a plasma mortar round into the sewer opening, generating a shockwave of heat and concussion. Along with PFCs Galliard and Locke, Jemison was killed instantly, with his organs ruptured and bones splintered by the blast.[2]
