Vidmaster Challenges[edit]
Prior to March 31, 2012, once all the Vidmaster Challenges were unlocked (including the ones in Halo 3) players could unlock Recon armor by visiting their Bungie.net Service Record. From that date, Recon is unlocked by default for all players.

Trivia[edit]
- Achievements which require one to kill enemies with a certain weapon have a red diamond in the background, while achievements which require one to complete a certain level have a light green Marathon symbol in the background.
- Halo 3: ODST gives players alerts on-screen as they make progress toward kill-based achievements (i.e. Dark Times, Naughty Naughty and I Like Fire). It is the only Halo game to date to feature this mechanic.
