Muruga sector is a sector of space far outside the realm of the worlds colonised by humanity, and well into Covenant space. The sector was named by Doctor Catherine Halsey after the Hindu god of war, to honour the deceased Halima Ascot, who had previously named Task Force Yama after the Hindu god of death.[1]

The sector contains Transit Node Bhadra, an intersection of two slipspace lanes, and lies around 200 light-years away from the furthest known exploration undertaken by humans.[1]
