The Storm Load glitch[edit]
Uh... How do you back in? Does the driver back in such that the driver is outside of the door (towards the Scarab), and the passenger is inside of the door? I mean, I haven't tried this yet, so I've no idea even which door, though I assumed it was the lakebed entrance and edited the article accordingly. Derendering[edit]
Load glitch is a bad name for this. It should be called level derendering. You can also see this in halo 1, absolutely everywhere. The number of instances is uncountable, but here are a few.
- When ledging, you can go blind, this is when the level completely derenders.
- When you fall out of the map, part of it derenders usually.
- When your ledging, parts of the level can be visibly derendered.
- When you launch extremely high, the level may begin to derender, this is visible on some campaign launches on The Silent Cartographer.
This isn't really a glitch or cheat, its just a mechanic of halo that can be messed with. Halo derenders parts of the level so your computer/xbox doesn't overload with physics calculations and bitmaps showing in the background when they aren't visible. Matortheeternal 23:34, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- The parts of the level, however, are not "derendered" -- they're unloaded from RAM. To the game (that is, the gameplay-related functions like the physics and collision engines), they literally cease to exist. "Load glitch" is indeed an inadequate name for the glitch, but "Level derendering" is misleading. File:DavidJCobb_Emblem.svg|16px]] DavidJCobb 00:40, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
