Overview
Design details
The Ravening Sliver is a named variant of the T-1 EW/S, upgraded with a faster swing rate. It is depicted as an energy sword with a deep blue hue and a green hilt. Each copy of the blade is marked by its creator and first owner, albeit with a legacy that has long since been forgotten.[5]
Service history
Spartan-IV personnel trained with the Ravening Sliver in the UNSC Infinity's War Games simulations in late 2558.
Gameplay
Halo 5: Guardians
The Ravening Sliver is a Rare Level 3 Power Weapon REQ that grants 100 REQ Points when sold. It operates exactly identically to the regular Energy Sword except that it can be swung twice as fast, making it deadlier overall as opponents have less time to react to players equipped with the Ravening Sliver. The faster swing speed, in addition to the faster weapon draw and switch speed, also makes the Ravening Sliver the superior option in surviving Energy Sword clashes with other players. Range-wise, the Ravening Sliver has the same lunge range as the regular Energy Sword: 6.87 m (22.54 ft) without Smart-Link and 11.92 m (39.11 ft) with Smart-Link.[7]
Changes from the Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword
- Faster swinging rate.
- Faster weapon draw and switch speed.
