Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya in the East African Protectorate on Earth. The Nairobi Road and a railway line connected Nairobi to the coastal city of Mombasa.[1]
History
Originally, the area where Nairobi would later be built was an uninhabited swamp. In 1899, a supply depot for the Uganda Railway was built in the area, and soon became the railway's headquarters. In 1905, Nairobi replaced Mombasa as the capital of what was then referred to as the British Protectorate.[2]
During the Battle of Mombasa, Commissioner Kinsler planned on using a special train to escape to Nairobi.[3] However, civilians managed overpower Kinsler and escape the city to Nairobi via Nairobi Road.[1]
