M862 Arctic Warthog

Template:Vehicle Infobox The M862 Arctic Warthog (also referred to as the Arctic Hog)[1] is a variant of the M12 Warthog that is outfitted specifically for expeditions in arctic conditions.[1]
Description
Unlike its standard variant, the M862 Warthog features an enclosed cabin and quad-tracks, allowing it to scale icy heights and travel over deep snow.[1]
Trivia
- In the Bungie.net page on the Warthog, the M864 Arctic Warthog is described as having quad treads and an enclosed compartment. This variant described is additionally listed as the M864 A Warthog.[2] Later sources reference the M864 as having none of these additional features, and ascribing them to the M862.
- The M862 Arctic was planned for inclusion in Halo: Ground Command as part of an upgrade set for the Warthog vehicle which would have included the M862's quad-treads and the M39 rocket turret used by the M12A1 Rocket Warthog.[3]
- The M862's described characteristics bear an extreme resemblance to a cut vehicle concepted for inclusion in Halo 2.
