Did he die

He was the boss of Reach's defense, so when Reach fell did the captain go down with the ship?Editorguy (talk) 23:15, 26 October 2017 (EDT)

We don't know. He wasn't a frontline commander, managing special warfare groups from afar and supporting them with intel, so there was no real need to keep him on-site. And we don't hear from him again after he sends Noble to Babd Catha again. So there's room there for 343i to say he either was killed by the Covenant, or managed to get off Reach. My personal hope is that he made it off Reach, and later helped set up the Spartan IV Program serving as an advisor or trainer for Spartan mission handlers and having a bittersweet reunion with Jun.

He also wasn't really the "boss" of Reach's defence - that role fell to Admiral Michael Stanforth, and then when he died to Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb. Holland was just a colonel, and Noble's mission handler. -- Qura 'Morhek ^{The Autocrat of Morheka} 04:26, 3 November 2017 (EDT)
