Isn't this guy Thel..? Ashary 23:03, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
- It's up for debate. The OXM stated that Thel would appear, but also said that there would be Marathon-class Cruisers, which there weren't. There are a few hints towards him being Thel, however. - Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 23:12, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
- I'd say the Major is more likely to be Thel, in an earlier period of his career. Allowing a Spartan to escape with an important asset, and preventing a warrior from dealing a death blow to said Spartan, would not be treated well by his superiors - perhaps this is the point where Thel finally dons the gold armour?-- Administrator Specops306 - Qur'a 'Morhek 12:21, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Unlikely. Thel was surprised to see Jai when he encountered him. He was astonished by Jai's strength so it is unlikely at all that Thel was the elite John 117 faced as he'd have known exactly what the hell a Spartan was. Also remember Thel at that time was already a Zealot so his armor would have been gold. Immediately after the events in the book he was given command of the Fleet of Particular Justice. --Zervziel 20:56, March 8, 2010 (UTC)
- The subtitles confirm Thel is the Major. The Fleet Commander is referenced simply as Alien 1, with the Bridge Officer as Alien 2. SquirrellyOtter Discussions Held Here 16:50, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
