Captain Rehkov was the second captain of the Phoenix-class colony ship, the Spirit of Fire, suceeding Captain Coleman in 2484.[1]Under Captain Coleman, the Spirit of Fire aided in the UNSC's interstellar expansion efforts by transporting colonists and equipment for colonization, including pre-fabricated structures such as schools and hydroponics facilities.[2] Captain Rehkov served until 2491 and his or her position was then filled by Captain Donald. By at least 2531, Rehkov's name and the period of his or her service as captain were painted onto the side of the Spirit of Fire's hull.
