Aleria

Aleria is a human Outer Colony in the Elduros system with a large mining industry. The planet's average temperature is 33°C. The mean age of Aleria's inhabitants is 45 years.[1] The world had a large smuggler presence as well, with numerous independent "courier guilds". Arris Le and Haisal Wari were two known smugglers that were affiliated with these guilds. When the Alerian mining union Mols'Desias collapsed, many colonists faced substantial debt and unemployment.[2][3] Bactrian-class freighters were often used on Aleria for interplanetary transport.[4] Beginning in 2453,[1] a drought lasting a century devastated the planet and allegedly killed half of its inhabitants. The drought forced many of the planet's colonists to become smugglers to allow them to earn money and to counter food shortages.[5]

The colony is likely named after the French town of the same name.
