Halopedia Image Gallery
Just thinking that to really improve the space we need some more graphics like they have at Wookieepedia. A Halopedia Image Gallery has been created and I hope everyone can show off their Photoshop skills.
Think you know everything?
So think you know everything about the Halo universe? Well then you can help clear up Heretic lies from Gospel truth! These articles need proof!! Please add sources or confirm that they are in fact lies told by the unbelievers! Some examples:

The Ark or Ark
- Talk pages keep disappearing, including the Reach talk page and the Ark talk page. i've posted valid arguments on some things in both articles, and the day after i post them, they disappear. odd. Vikedal 01:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- The vandal you refer to is User:RelentlessRecusant who on 16:58, 9 December 2006 moved the article "The Ark" to "Ark" but didn't move the Talk page with comments on it. -- Esemono 04:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Vote for Article Name
- Change to The Ark (2)
- Change to Ark (4)
- Change to The Ark - Now I propose that this be reversed as "The Ark" is a better name for the article -- Esemono 04:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Agreed The Ark--User:JohnSpartan117 [1] 05:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)- Ark - there is never a "the" in the article name, as per Wikipedia standards! -49 Proximal Secant [RelentlessRecusantFile:Jedi Order.jpg] 20:16, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Halopedia is not Wikipedia. -- Esemono 03:02, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Why does it matter if they redirect to each other anyway?--User:JohnSpartan117 [2] 23:00, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Besides broken redirects, it's not really a big issue. This vote is more to prevent users from switching it back and forth every couple of weeks. If there is a consensus then we can point to this vote and say this article title has been deemed "The Ark" or "Ark" -- Esemono 03:02, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I would like to remind my esteemed colleagues that Wikipedia is the basis of all Wikias, and its guidelines are upheld by many Wikias, including the greatest in size of them all: Wookieepedia. Cheers, -49 Proximal Secant [RelentlessRecusantFile:Jedi Order.jpg] 03:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Again Halopedia IS NOT wikipedia or Wookiepedia for that matter -- Esemono 23:10, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- The Ark Simply because it's the name of the object O_o. As much as wikipedia standards say "No The in the title", this is halopedia, not wikipedia.
Vikedal 19:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC) - Ark Not because of Wikipedia, but because it's simpler. To have an article say "Why, the Ark, of course." is more natural than "Why, The Ark, of course." --Dragonclaws 19:42, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ark I change my mind, it should be Ark because "The" is not part of the name. The Master Chief dosnt have "The" in the name of the article, so neither should the Ark.--User:JohnSpartan117 [3] 09:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Master Chief doesn't have a The because it's his rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, not The Master Chief Petty Officer.
- I know...but they kind of use it to refer to him now! And in the third person its "the Master Chief" and the same goes for "the Ark". So ergo the page should be called Ark--User:JohnSpartan117 [4] 20:55, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- [Coughs to cover his snickering at John's sudden vote change...] SPARTAN-091 File:UNSC.jpg HelmetComm||Juliet 22:52, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ark - The is an adjective that doesn't belong in titles. If I am sereaching for the Master Chief or the Arbiter, I don't put halo.wikia.com/wiki/The_Arbiter, I just put
halo.wikia.com/wiki/Arbiter. You'll note that when we talk about the Master Chief or the Arbiter, we talk about the Master Chief, not The Master Chief. Its the same with the Ark. We talk about the Ark not The Ark.--RotBrandon 04:36, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
How many Kill Shots page
Quick opinion, we as a community should compile a table of how many shots from each gun it takes to kill each enemy in their weak spot and torso, shielded and unshielded on each difficulty -- User:Spartan 1138
Im confused
Are "bad words" aload on this site because some users not all the time but still use the not so friendly words. I just thought I should bring this up.--ryanngreenday 15:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say they're allowed, but not recomended. We should be civil, and adding swear words to messages can upset civility. There are swears in Halo, and I think it would be hypocritical to ban it on Halopedia. --Dragonclaws 22:53, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Distress Signal! RE: Screenshots!
What's the best way to take Halo TV screenshots?
Cheers,
49 Proximal Secant[oracle]File:H3 Monitor.PNG 04:17, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- The best way, as in the way that gives the best quality, is to use a capture card to import it to your computer, and then either export that frame of the video, or pause it, take a screenshot, and crop the image to give only the image from Halo. The best way speedwise, is to use a digital camera, take a picture of your TV, and import it. This, BTW, is HORRIBLE with CRTs. Guesty-Persony-Thingy 04:21, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

2000
Did anyone notice we are over 2000 pages? excellent! -- Esemono 05:02, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't it counting redirects? I think of it as 16,211 minus about 500. --Dragonclaws 07:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Rank Template Format
I was noticed that someone was adding some kind of infobox to the rank articles. The templates look cool but because there is almost no content on most of the rank pages the template {{Mranks}} mashes with the infobox to look like this, Private. Now someone figured out you can solve this problem but looking at the Marine Ranks it seemed so crowded and with the new Infoboxes the information is pushed out of view on the page. So I split the officers ranks into a new Template and then moved it to the top where can be easily seen for faster navigation through the ranks.
Well it looks good to me. But if anyone disagree comment under the feeback header. If there are no disagreements I'll change the other enlisted ranks too.
Feedback
A) Should the Officer ranks be split off like shown Major General
B) Should the ranks be moved to the top of the page as shown in Major General

Image Categorization
Category:Stubs says we need to... "Add labels to all the image files! I know it seems like a hopeless task but if we all pitch in!" So I have decided to embark on a mission to categorize each and every image on this site, which will not only help with adding similar labels to similar files, but also with deleting unneeded, unwanted, or duplicate images. But since there are so many images on this site, so many possible categories, so many potential edits, I thought I should get the go-ahead from an admin before I start on this perilous journey. After all, if I screwed up somewhere, that would be a lot of editted edits, and I don't want to completely screw this site... or my reputation as a good editor. But more importantly this site. Yeah, so if you guys would be fine with it, just say the word, and I'll be on my merry way. guesty-persony-thingy 20:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wow that sounds great! Good Luck but you should decide what categories the images should go in before you set out. It would actually probably be easier to add an image template to each image with a category embedded in the image. For example edit the {{Game-screenshot}} template to add [[Category:Game Screenshots]] to every page it is used. -- Esemono 02:06, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Image Categories
So try and map out which categories you're going to use, here are a couple I can think of:
- Game Screenshots
- Fan Art
- Real world
- HBO
- Okay, thanks, and thanks for the advice and all that. I'll probably have a bunch of main categories, but I know that at least Game Screenshots and Fan Art will be heirarchies with UNSC, Covenant, Flood, Forerunner, and (possibly) Other subcategories. But when it comes to Real World, HBO, or any other possible categories, I'll figure it out when I get there. For now, I'll just start with making the Game Screenshots category, and later tonight I'll start sweeping through the Covenant pages and categorizing every picture I come across. guesty-persony-thingy 03:41, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good! Remember you can also look through Halopedia's list of images -- Esemono 03:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, but there are so many horribly badly named images and images not relating to Halo and all kinds of stuff like that, and then it's just going from first to last... geh.... Instead, I'm going to use a more methodical method (actually, it's less methodical, since it's not first-to-last, but I'm starting with Covenant, then moving to UNSC... you know, so it seems more methodical), and hopefully that'll clear it up a bit first, and then I'll be using the list of uncategorized images once that gets under way. Anyway, I'll be starting in a couple minutes, so you won't see me editting main namespace pages or actually adding content for a couple hours. Cheers! guesty-persony-thingy 03:57, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Freelancer:Combat Evolved
Hi im new to Halopedia and some users have already taken a look at my Profile page and they like the look of Freelancer:Combat Evolved, which is a total conversion mod for the old microsoft gamr freelancer, Currently Jaythepilot is looking for a clan to set ONI up in so i thought of you guys, and would it be possiable to link the FL:CE forums from the main page or should i say make a new page, the game is strict to canon and its currently going through Alpha testing so its not anywhere finished, so if you have freelancer and would like to play take a look at my profile page fr info about it, some videos and some pictures as well as a battle summery for a TE (Territorial Engagement). --DarkAngel 03:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Halo Fanon/Fanstuff
Hey, me and RelentlessRecusant, made the Halo Fanon/Fanstuff Wiki. And I request that we work together. You guys would be the like a Knowledge base and we at the Halo Fanon would be the Fanstuff area. We added a link to this wiki and are asking that you guys also please do the same for us. Thanks, H*bad 19:55, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

I had an idea
I’ve had an amazing idea; As certain Users have more knowledge in different areas of the Halo Universe why not chose a main user to keep an eye on, watch over those certain articles e.g. the star ship articles Relentless worked hard on, or all the weapon articles. They would be like Semi Admins with no privileges it would just be their job to make sure that there was no Fan Fiction or over vandalism in their articles and start up votes for articles deletion or merging; Users could go to them to refure data and so on. They could be chosen by the Admins or elected by the users meaning starting up campaigns which would be very amusing. And given Titles to fit their job e.g. Imperial Admiral it was just a thought. --Climax Viod 15:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
As did I.--ryanngreenday 19:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, but the highest authory should go to the couserlers, (the admins should receave this rank), and every three months, an admin should give the rank to someone else, and to handle the chaos of this site, there should have a total of seven admins, three as the main rulers, and four as sub-admins, to matain control.--Admiral Sozai Nexes File:.jpg FLEETCOMM 22:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- We don't need to do things by Bungie numbers. --Dragonclaws(talk) 22:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Why not WikiProject type things instead? A group to watch over certain pages instead of one user. While RR has worked hard on them, so has Ed. It seems unnecessarally hieratic to nominate one leading user for each category when wikis are such group projects. --Dragonclaws(talk) 22:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Nice idea Dragonclaws lets do that --Climax Viod 22:51, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
