If Chief destroyed High Charity as planned in Floodgate, but still had Cortana's message, then the Sangheili and Forward unto Dawn would have beaten the Covenant right after the Third tower went down, Chief and Johnson would have made it out alive, and 343 Guilty Spark would be happy. In Halo 4 Requiem opens because John-117 was there, and thus the Reclaimer Saga would not have happened.
