Do we really need this? It is just about the moon, nothing special there... H-107 Subtle Tank 15:40, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Do we really need to delete it? I think it should stay. -Umos 'Qikost Sword-wielding Minors and Shining Blue Spiders Comm 15:47, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The moon is the site of some stuff in the Halo world, so it has relevancy. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

The image should probably be replaced with a screenshot from the game. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Mistake

If the moon was colonized(I'm assuming it is cos of the OCS on it) it would need to be Terraformed and the moon would be blue and green representing Landmasses and Sea. Gunnery Sergeant File:Rank 6.jpg McCallan 19:34, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

  • In Luna, is only the OCS academy and nothing else. There is no reason to be terraformed. Only planets which were to be colonised were terraformed.--Odysseas-Spartan53 20:15, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey GS McCallan the moon cant be terraformed it cant hold an atmosphere because its pull of gravity is to weak.

MACs on the Moon?

Could there have been MAC emplacements on the surface, like on Reach? Spartan Andy-012

I doubt it. The moon has the protection of the Home fleet as well as the Earths Orbital defense Grid. And there where no MAC guns on REACH, only orbiting around it (I assume you meant what I said thought, just clayifying).--Arabsbananas 20:21, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Settlements

Since it hasn't been terraformed, there would be not atmosphere, so that means people lived in indoor colonies, right? But wouldn't it be really dark there? Teh lolz! BPL 22:17, 28 August 2009 (UTC) No. Think an indoor artificial enviromen sorta of like what you seen on Cairo Station. --Sgt.T.N.Biscuits 19:54, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Well, I guess darkness wouldn't be much of a problem if they've got some kind of lighting grid. I'd imagine Luna OCS Academy wouldn't be sitting in the dark while training its officers, heh. --UNSC Trooper Unsctrooper small.jpg TalkMy Work 20:24, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Bloody hell

Just call it the Moon. Yeah, Moon, don't call it Luna. No one fucking cares about "Luna", it's called the moon. —This unsigned comment was made by 124.150.110.130 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Sorry you feel that way. Here's the difference between your gut feeling and the Halo canon: While it is Earth's moon, there are many more moons of other planets in space. There's only one Luna however. It's explicitly referred to as the "colony of Luna" in the glossary entry on the Imbrium Machine Complex in the Halo 4: The Essential Visual Guide, page 228 to provide just one such recent example. If Halo refers to Earth's moon as Luna, shouldn't it be called that here as well? -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 16:22, 2 February 2014 (EST)
Luna is a much better name than Moon and I'm sorry you had to be so immature in your objection to the canon name.
Relevant "'Earth?' Terrible name for a planet. Might as well call it 'Dirt.' 'Planet Dirt.'" ProphetofTruth (talk) 18:24, 2 February 2014 (EST)
To be fair, "Earth", or even the Latin "Terra", was named in antiquity when the human race actually thought that the world was the round, flat center of it all. For millennia! "Planets" were 'wanderers' in the night sky. Earth wasn't considered a planet until the sun-centered model of the solar system gained acceptance and relegated Earth to just one of the wanderers that orbited the sun. It was also around this time that the moon was still thought to be the only on until Galileo's telescope revealed there existed other moons around other planets; notabley the four large moons of Jupiter. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 18:54, 2 February 2014 (EST)
To be fair, it was referred as "Luna" in Halo: Reach.— subtank 19:15, 2 February 2014 (EST)

Are you referring to Spaceport? Bronzey (talk) 19:33, 2 February 2014 (EST)
