Talk:Autumn-class heavy cruiser
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Does anybody know if the macgun is tripple firing like the macgun on the autumn was or is it a one shot thing like many other macguns are?Spartan Matt (talk) 22:54, 18 September 2013 (EDT)
- It can be assumed that the answer is yes. Many of the Pillar of Autumn's upgrades were applied to the newer Autumn-class heavy cruisers. It is not stated directly, rather indirectly, as in implied, by the statement "While the Autumn would be destroyed on Halo later, its numerous upgrades were highly regaled and inspired the Autumn-class [heavy] cruiser..." and there you have it. Hope that clears up any further questions. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 00:07, 19 September 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
I'll agree it's a reasonable assumption based on that info, but without stats on the Autumn-class, I wouldn't say it's definitive enough to enter in a Halopedia article. What if the UNSC found out that they could make a one-shot MAC even more powerful than the Autumn's 3 shot? Without knowing the extent of the upgrades (or video of them firing their weapons) it's still falls in the realm of speculation. It can be added that it "may" have most of the upgrades the Pillar of Autumn had, but it should not say it "does" have them. That said, there's some speculative things that should be on Halopedia that I have not seen. That class ships are not listed among the known vessels of a class. This is basic shipbuilding practice the world over and in sci-fi spacecraft. And Halo has followed suit. There is a UNSC Charon, a UNSC Halcyon, a UNSC Valiant, etc. In this case (since I was given the choice to decide for 343i) the Autumn-class is a colloquial term. The first ship of the Autumn-class is properly the UNSC Pillar of Autumn II. (So there's no UNSC Autumn, just to be clear.) -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 07:40, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
- Well I guess I'll see if I can make those articles today.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 12:58, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
The one I'm not sure of is if 343i considers the Stalwart-class' first vessel to be the UNSC Stalwart or if they intend Halo: Reach's UNSC Stalwart Dawn as the class vessel or simply another frigate. It's never been mentioned either way in any official media. I'll see if I can verify that. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 14:16, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
- Got it, prepare yourself to be made ship articles! Unless I can run to a book store some time today and finally get the guide.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 14:21, 19 September 2013 (EDT)
Weapons Specifics
I've gone ahead and added the specific weapons to the Autumn-class Heavy Cruiser's side-bar, all this information can be found on page 191 in the Halo 4: The Essential Visual Guide.
