Spartan Assault on PC and Mac?

Is there any information on this game being available for Mac too? Because if it were, that would be awesome. But if not, I may have to get an emulator for my computer. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 10:53, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330

It's a Windows 8 exclusive, so no. And I doubt you can find an emulator for it. — subtank 10:58, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
Maybe. One can always give it a try. But if it does fail, I suppose I could just go out and buy a PC computer. Might be time I get one anyway. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:22, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Based on the initial information I'm seeing, it appears that this game is optimized for phone & tablet play, rather than a straight desktop platform. Pity... I'd hoped that Microshaft had decided to include the PC platform as something more than an afterthought for its continuing Halo lines. I imagine it'll follow the standard Microsoft model & be pretty buggy out of the box... Right on the money. Essentially a GameApp. And rumour has it that it will be available soon via XBLA since it is said to work with the Xbox controller. — subtank 12:31, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
It won't work with the controller on release, that'll be added later. This is craZboy557, signing off. 12:52, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
For me, it probably won't really matter, since I can content myself with all the Halo games for Xbox 360 plus the two other Halo games - Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 Vista (I know some people made this work with an emulator) - will keep me happy for the most part. But if I do express interest, then I'll try to find a way to be able to play it. But for now, it doesn't really matter. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 13:17, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
According to Joystiq the game is being released for Windows 8 phone, tablet and PC (which I'm sure it will work just fine on), though if you own all three you'll have to buy it individually for each device. Though at an estimated price of USD$7, that's not a huge issue. The choice of device definitely isn't accidental; it's an attempt to boost sales of Windows 8 devices. I'm not saying artistic choices weren't important, just that this project likely started with a Microsoft exec saying to 343, "You're going to make a Halo game for Windows 8." I'd like to see the game on XBLA (since I own a Windows 7 laptop and iPhone 4 with no immediate plans to upgrade), but in my opinion, we won't be seeing it there until several months after its initial launch, say once the Xbox One is released - aka once anyone who would buy a Windows 8 device just for Spartan Assault has already bought one. --Emblem 1.jpg Rusty-112 Admin comm 19:46, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Weapons Section

I think we can deduce from the cover that at least two weapons will be in the game: The M6H Magnum Pistol and the M395 DMR. Is there any problem with adding this? --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:22, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330

Nope :D Sith-venator Wavingstrider Fett helmet.jpg (Commlink) 11:38, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
I think someone should double-check this list to verify that these weapons and vehicles will be in the game, as it is obviously not out yet. Confirmation is a must. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 11:44, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330

I guess "don't jump the gun" would be appropriate here.— subtank 11:55, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Are you saying we shouldn't post any weapons until 343 says they'll be in? This is craZboy557, signing off. 12:02, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Not exactly. I'm hinting that we should avoid using the trailer as confirmation since stuff featured in trailers are likely to be absent in the final product. Example: Halo trailers since 2001. — subtank 12:06, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
So much for jumping the gun. Wow. Anyway, I think it would be okay if we can infer from the trailer what might be in the final product, and if some of it is wrong, some of it can be removed. I think we did something similar for the Halo 4 article. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 12:15, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Next scene: ten editors add in info, info gets outdated, calls out for info-fix. Some time later, one editor - unrelated to the ten - comes in and fixes info. Another editor comes in and gives the same warning on "jumping the gun". Repeat scene. Oh joy.— subtank 12:25, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
Agreed. QLOL. Are we not learning from our past mistakes? Or we simply too hyped up for a new upcoming game? --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 12:36, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Holy crap, just saw what you meant by "so much for jumping the gun." Should we delete that? This is craZboy557, signing off. 12:42, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

(reset indent) Too late now. Might as well just follow the flow.— subtank 13:08, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Halo Wars Graphic Engine?

I don't know if everyone else noticed this, but it seems they are quite possibly recycling the Halo Wars graphics engine for this game. Maybe we should mention this? --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 12:58, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330

Source saying that it is using Halo Wars graphics engine please. :) — subtank 13:08, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
I know, what I meant to be asking is, are they using the Halo Wars graphics engine for this game? Because it seems like it is. Need confirmation and source. Why does it look the way it does? --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 13:11, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Doesn't look like it to me I think you're just basing that off the top down view. I took a quick look at it and the models appear to be notably more detailed than Wars. This is craZboy557, signing off. 13:26, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
Perhaps. But it does bear a very close similarity to it. I'd still like to know, as I'm sure we all would like to know. It is very cool. --Xamikaze330 [Transmit|Files] 13:31, 4 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
They might share the same basic architecture, in the same way that a Volkswagen Beetle shares the same basic structure as a Mercedes AMG 600SL (ie: 4 wheels, an engine, transmission, etc) but the underlying code is probably quite different. Your average top-down game is going to have a POV centered on the player, with all of the action happening around them. Add to that the fact that the weapons' behavior has been thoroughly documented in numerous games & other media & haven't changed all that much between the Wars timeframe & the S.A. timeframe (BRs have Burst fire, Plasma Pistols overcharge, Plasma rifles overheat, Stickies stick, Needlers track & explode, Rockets go boom) & you'll see quite a few similarities. The one area where the differences will be readily apparent is in the fact the the SPARTAN Assault player will be able to pick up & use weapons scattered about the field whereas in Wars, as in most RTS-style games, you're stuck with what you were spawned with & that's it. That in and of itself would require a major upgrade in coding. - DJenser (talk) 16:20, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

can someone put this on the navigation bar? thanks much, --Weeping Angel (talk) 17:29, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

I'll take care of it if someone else hasn't already.--Spartacus TalkContribs 18:02, 4 June 2013 (EDT)

Sources thingies needed

Could someone please add the little numbers to the sources to videos? It also says jul mdama makes an appearance but so far I haven't even seen Jul. Erickyboo (talk) 14:55, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

Parg Vol?

Do we have a source that says Parg Vol is in Spartan Assault. I've gone through all the sources listed on this site in regards to Spartan Assault, and looked at any media I could find. I cannot find any that mention Parg Vol by name.Toa Freak (talk) 16:06, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

Here, in the trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxsYQtltOco At 0:36, the mission objective is to find Parg Vol's Phantom, so he's likely an enemy featured in the game. However, I'm not sure for Jul 'Mdama.Imrane-117 (talk) 16:35, 7 June 2013 (EDT)
