Dominion
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Template:New Content Dominion is a game mode in Halo 4 wherein players compete to capture and hold bases from the opposition. A win is attained when a team captures all available bases and then kills all members of the opposing team, or when a team reaches a preset score/time runs out.[1]
Rules and Playstyle
By maintaining control of captured bases the bases become fortified, bringing automatic turrets and shields online to aid defense. The bases are also periodically resupplied with new vehicles and weapons. Once all available bases are captured by one team, the members of the losing team are granted overshields to allow them the possibility of recapturing a base and cannot respawn when killed; this is known as the "Last Stand." A match is won when the entire losing team is killed while in Last Stand, a team scores 400 points,[2] or a team ends the game with the highest score. Points are rewarded for a base capture (10 points), completing the fortification process on a base (20 points), and resupplying a base (30 points). There are currently unknown conditions for the scoring system relating to capturing bases. Sometimes, 10 points will be rewarded for a capture, and sometimes they won't. This is possibly a bug in the pre-release build of Halo 4.[1]
