EMP (medal)
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
EMP Kill is a medal in Halo 3: ODST. In Halo 3 it is called the EMP Medal, in Halo: Reach it is called EMP Blast, and in Halo 4 it is called EMP Assist.
In its first three incarnations it is represented by a 16-pointed green star over a 16-pointed gold star, with an overcharged plasma pistol bolt over the green star. In Halo 4 it is represented by a three lightning bolts shooting out of a blue and white Yin and Yang on a blue circle and inverted grey pentagon.
In Halo 3 the medal is awarded in the campaign. It is awarded for removing a Brute, Jackal or Engineer shield with a Plasma pistol or a Power Drain, then quickly killing the opponent.
In Halo 3: ODST, it is awarded in campaign and Firefight when a player kills a Jiralhanae shortly after disabling its power armor[1], as well as any shielded enemy including the Kig-yar and Huragok.
In Halo: Reach, the medal is awarded in campaign, Firefight and multiplayer for killing an enemy after collapsing its shields with an EMP burst from a grenade launcher, an overcharged plasma pistol bolt, or Armor lock. The player will also receive the medal if their opponent is finished off by another player.
In Halo 4 version is an assist medal awarded for EMP-ing an opponent who is then killed by an ally. Unlike past incarnations, the player cannot kill the enemy by themselves.
