Template:SeeWikipedia A grenade is a hand thrown anti-infantry, or anti-vehicle weapon, while some might serve both purposes. They are primed by the user, and then thrown toward the target(s).

United Nations Space Command

  • M9 High-Explosive Dual-Purpose "Fragmentation Grenade" - Effective against infantry and lightly armored vehicles, its hard metal casing, frangible design is meant to break apart into small, regular shards. This surface creates consistent, reliable fragmentation patterns, rather than randomly rupturing along metallurgical faults.
  • Flash-Bang Grenade - Chemical reactions produce an extremely bright flash of light and a very loud concussion blast when deployed, stunning targets, but doing very little physical damage to them.
  • Sonic grenade -
  • Napalm grenade -

Covenant Empire

  • Type-1 Antipersonnel "Plasma Grenade" - When primed and thrown, the plasma gas intensifies upon contact with a vehicle or infantry, burning/adhereing into the surface until detonation. Contains some type of internal "target acquisition" mechanism that allows it to distinguish between targets and background.
  • Type-2 Antipersonnel Fragmentation "Spike Grenade" - Razor-like blades secure itself to surfaces. After collision, detonation, sends ricocheting clusters of super-heated metal spikes flying at a perpendicular trajectory to the surface, making the grenade a deadly weapon against enemies in confined spaces.
  • Type-3 Antipersonnel/Antimateriel Incendiary "Firebomb Grenade" - Multi-purposed infantry explosives munition, and can be thrown 10 meters by the average soldier. The filling contains pyrophoric alkali metal Caesium chemical compound, a stable yet hazardous chemical compound that was developed by the Jiralhanae.

Forerunner

  • Z-040 Attenuation Field Generator "Pulse Grenade" - Forcefully detonates, forming a hazardous ionization sphere which eventually collapses, creating an area effect that slows vehicles and damages both shields and health. Ideal for clearing enemies from cover and can reshape the layout of a battle.
