RE: Talk:Chris StillwellEdit

Please do not create talk pages just to complain. Talk pages are for discussion of canon questions or improving the page. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 14:49, 9 May 2015 (EDT)

Sangheili (language)Edit

Why did you remove almost the words/phrases from the Sangheili word chart? Despite being written-by-ear, those parts would still be canon, as they actually appeared in-game during H4 and Spartan Ops. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 21:37, 5 October 2015 (EDT)

Some of that was 2 years old and was written wrong. Basically, I had forgotten to update them and many of these words were horribly disfigured (eg rioh was actually reeyoh, meyo is mehyoh, no is noh and plenty of others mistakes. The transcription system is easy now that I have some of these words written but at the time they were first written I simply tried to make up a cipher and listen to stuff. The removal was temporary, except for wort, which isn't canon and serves more like an easter egg. Some time later this months I will get to update the page and prepare a total revamp, which will include the pronunciation guide since the language is written almost phonetically by 343i and the removal of the Bungie cipher which has been non canon since forever. Most of the triangles serve as a kanji counterpart usually if you pay attention to how they are used in halo 4 and escalation. I had not updated the page because half the stuff was mere speculation on my part until the new sprint episodes proved my speculation correct.--The Master Builder (talk) 16:30, 6 October 2015 (EDT)

Okay, got it, thanks for explaining. I suggest the current version be left up for now, and then when the updated version is completed then it can all be replaced. It's better to have the rough version now than nothing at all until then.

As for wort, by all appearance it seems canon. The phrase shows up in full during Another Day at the Beach, in the context of "go go go". Elites in Halo 3 will also ask if you expect them to say "wort wort wort". Tuckerscreator(stalk) 17:07, 6 October 2015 (EDT) That's Bungie era. When Sangheili was not a language. Under 343i wort wort wort is an easter egg said always as wort wort wort. You won't find wort in phrases said by Unggoy or Sangheili as an individual word. Kaboonoh and its various forms have replaced it. Wort's canon status is ambiguous at best.--The Master Builder (talk) 17:15, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
