The logo for Jazwares.

Jazwares is an American company and manufacturer of collectibles, plush and stuffed toys, and general action figures. Founded in 1997 by Judd Zebersky, Jazwares was responsible for the Halo Infinite tie-in line of action figures, which range from 3.75 to 12 inches in scale.

History

Originally announced in a photo-prohibited booth during Toy Fair 2020, Jazwares' first foray into the Halo universe would be through multiple Infinite tie-in lines of figures. The first, dubbed The Spartan Collection, would involve Spartan-centric figures from across the mainline Halo video games at a scale of 6.5 inches. The second, dubbed The World of Halo, would see a wider range of figures, including characters from the Banished and the UNSC, along with vehicles for both. The World of Halo would be scaled at 3.75 inches. A final line, the 12 inch line, would see a brief release, featuring characters from both lines in a larger, but simplified scale. Miscellaneous boxed sets scaled with The World of Halo would also be released, albeit in fewer numbers than either of the latter two lines.

The Spartan Collection is the longest running line by Jazwares, running for around eight or nine series, with each made up of three to four figures. The 12 inch line became defunct by its third series, with The World of Halo falling to a similar fate. The Spartan Collection would also see the debut of official Fractures action figure merchandise, with figures based on the Belos armor and Yoroi becoming available to purchase, the latter across multiple lines from Jazwares.

Production notes

  • The original "Spartan Yoroi" figure's design and coloration hails from Kyle Heffley's high poly model for the armor.

Errors

  • The Jazwares line erroneously lists both the wearers of Belos and Yoroi as "Spartans" when they're "Chosen" and "samurai" respectively, likely as a result of legal licensing. Likewise, while the later released "Spartan Yokai" figure would be named after the figure's helmet like most other figures in the line, the first Tenrai-themed figure would be known as "Spartan Yoroi" across the scaled lines despite wearing Kabuto.
  • Laurette Agryna's Spartan Collection figure would release with the box labelling her helmet as Flanker. This is never referenced in-game and is likely erroneous, potentially coming from a time where the helmet's name was used elsewhere.
  • Both the individual and boxed versions of the Halo: Combat Evolved-era Master Chief figures use the mold of an MA5C assault rifle, despite listing an MA5B assault rifle.
