NameEdit
Is the name conjecture? Several of the characters continually refer to it as the Custodian, as does the little intro summaries at the beginning of each comic. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 10:28, 28 November 2015 (EST)
- They do, but it's often uncapitalized in the intro summaries. Issue 21: "Song of Retribution has [awakened] its powerful custodian.", Issue 22: "the Record's powerful custodian..." It's only capitalized in Issue 23: "the site's Custodian pits Spartan Palmer's team...", and I'm willing to bet that's a mistake because Issue 24 has it uncapitalized again: "guided by a Sentinel containing the custodian's last fragment of consciousness..." It's called that because Halsey greets it as "I assume we are speaking with the custodian of this facility". Tuckerscreator(stalk) 14:41, 28 November 2015 (EST)
- Alright, makes sense. Especially with "the site's Custodian" which further implies that "custodian" is the ancilla's role rather than name. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 14:57, 28 November 2015 (EST)
- For what it's worth, Mythos refers to it as the "Custodian" as well. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 16:22, 9 March 2017 (EST)
Contender ClassEdit
How is it that we know for sure that the Custodian was a Contender-class ancilla? Aside from it's representation as similar to the Halo: Legends anime, I don't recall anything that clearly defines it as a Contender-class A.I. specifically. The Ragin Pagan (talk) 23:37, 5 January 2017 (EST)
- Bump. This article treats the Custodian as a Contender on the shaky basis that Mendicant Bias once used a similar shell. However, Mendicant Bias took a variety of forms, so considering this housing the definitive look of the class reads too much into the association. While the Custodian may in fact be a Contender — though the debacle in Escalation #22 suggests otherwise — I think it's best that we don't assume one way or the other. --Our answer is at hand.
