Prepare To Drop

Prepare To Drop is a video promoting the release of Halo 3: ODST in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC and the launch of Firefight mode within the collection. It was released on September 14, 2020.

The title alludes to the tagline of Halo 3: ODST, and the name of the game's opening cutscene.

Transcript

Open to M7S SMGs on a wall, with a row of M90A shotguns behind them. Cut to a flag with the emblem of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers on it. A sire goes off in the background.

• Taylor Miles: "Now's one of those times, pays to be the strong, silent type."

Cut to a row of M8900 Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicles.

• Edward Buck: "Troopers! We are green and very, very mean!"

Cut to black. Opens to Jonathan Doherty's heads-up display as his SOEIV drops from UNSC Say My Name. Cuts to his view as the SOEIV enters Earth's atmosphere, above New Mombasa.

• Michael Crespo: "We're way off course!"

• Veronica Dare: "We're heading exactly where I need to go."

A stream of energy flickers across the hull of Solemn Penance. A Slipspace rupture opens before the carrier, and carrier disappears into the rupture. The event creates a massive explosion and shockwave.

• Miles: "EMP! Losing power! Radiation!"

• Buck: "Stabilize, then pop your chutes! We're going in hard!"

Cut to black, then open to a SOEIV in the nighttime streets of Mombasa. Fade to a closer view of the empty pod. Its interior is lit by the red lights inside. Fade to an M7S SMG and an ODST helmet. Fade to black.
