Do any of those "sources" actually mention the United States Marine Corps in name, or is this original research? Jasca Ducato Talk to the Dark Lord 21:28, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Just a note on why I edited the article, it was because the article was implying that the US Marine Corps was part of the US Navy much the way the Royal Marines are a part of the Royal Navy. The USMC is an orginization under the Department of the Navy and a seperate branch apart from the US Navy. (Agdrew08 02:08, 22 January 2008 (UTC))

U.S. Marines are cool and all, but the only thing this article has that bears any relation to the Halo Universe is the "similarities" section, which can be comfortably merged with the UNSC Marine Corps article if it's needed at all. I do not believe the USMC has ever been mentioned in any Halo-related game or text (with the exception of the thrice-damned Encyclopedia, which took a lot from this very site), and articles with no direct relation to the series have been deleted for less in the past.--The All-knowing Sith'ari 07:24, 3 July 2012 (EDT)

- Support - Agreed with Sith'ari. While the USMC may have had an influence on the UNMC/UNSCMC, we don't have any real sources for it, and thus no real justification for its retention. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 09:33, 3 July 2012 (EDT)
- Support — There are no mentions of them in-universe that I can recall, and links to the Wikipedia page will provide better and more up-to-date information than an abridged copy in this wiki. As Sith'ari said, the most notable similarities can easily be covered in the UNSC Marine Corps article. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:42, 3 July 2012 (EDT)
