I'm wondering if the reason why Bungie introduced the Coral Forerunner complex and then never brought it up again was as a tribute to ILB so Hiro could be right. If there was a Forerunner complex, the implication is that the Covenant did leave some stuff like Reach. --Dragonclaws(talk) 04:14, 25 September 2011 (EDT)

I'm sorry; while I am a fan of ilb/ a beekeeper, I do not understand your context. Could you explain it further? All I remember of any remote similarity is Reach having had an unusually-large percentage of refugees to escape in comparison to other colonies.-- Forerunner 05:07, 25 September 2011 (EDT)
Hiro says that on Reach they (the Covenant) left some stuff, so Kamal can hope that they left part of his homeworld instead of completely glassing it. This is a reference to First Strike, where the Covenant spared areas around the Menachite Forerunner complex because they worship the Forerunner and wanted the crystal. The civilians had no way of knowing that, so Hiro just knows the Covenant didn't glass it entirely for some reason. I'm suggesting Bungie stuck the letter about a Forerunner complex on Coral into Conversations from the Universe so that Kamal could indeed have hope about Coral surviving, thus making a tribute to Halo's first alternate reality game the way another letter references C. Errera as a tribute to their most dedicated fan. They wouldn't have intended Coral's Forerunner complex to be a story outside of the ILB context, thus explaining why they've never brought it up again despite Forerunner discoveries generally being pretty major. --Dragonclaws(talk) 06:42, 25 September 2011 (EDT)
