UNSC Spirit of Fire AI Construct |
Serina is an artificial intelligence (AI) construct that is assigned to the UNSC Spirit of Fire, a modified Phoenix-class Colony Ship. She is set to be one of the main characters in the upcoming game Halo Wars, helping the players as they play the game.[1]
Overview
Little is known about Serina at this point other than the fact that she acts as a Military Advisory AI, which may, or may not be, her only function.[2] She is a smart AI (see quotes beneath), which is usually a sign of advanced memory capacity, like Cortana. In contrast, other AI's known throughout the Halo Canon exhibit only minor aspects of personality. Her avatar is a young female with long hair. Her clothes look like those worn on a farmland. This is most likely due to the fact that she was assigned to a Colony Ship that was sent to Harvest, an agricultural colony. Serina also has a English accent. Being a Smart AI, she may only have a few years of run time left if she has stayed near Harvest for the five years it took to get it back. Smart AI only have about 7 years of run time before they "think themselves to death".
Trivia
- Her avatar hovers in place over the projector, seeing her shoes are lifted to her toes.
- She is the first AI pictured in a game to wear clothes all over her body.
- "Spinning up FTL drives" is a reference to Battlestar: Galactica, which uses this phrase constantly when the Fleet enters Lightspeed.
- As said in the Halo Wars Manual, Serina seems to have a strange curiosity about chocolate.
