Cairo Station is an Orbital Super MAC Cannon. Located above the city Cairo on Earth, it is one of humanity's last defences against the Covenant. It comes under attack on October 2552, and, along with Earth, is still alive and functional. However, it is still heavily damaged from the botched Covenant assault, as seen in the final cutscene of The Great Journey, when Master Chief returns to Earth aboard the Forerunner Ship.
