Lieutenant W. K. Davidson was an officer in the UNSC and a member of the UNSC Engineering Corps in 2492. That year, he led archeological expedition four to planet Onyx and surveyed it. He noted the rock structure of the planet as well as the fossil life found, and recommended a follow-up survey. His report was ENGCORP Field Report A76344. The second survey discovered Forerunner artifacts. The planet was then taken over by ONI.
