Biography

Family life and the Human-Covenant War

Nerina married Caleb Vale, a slipspace drive technician, and they had a daughter, Olympia Vale,[1] on January 20, 2536.[3]. Nerina was eventually promoted to Captain in UNSC signal intelligence and was reassigned to High Command on Earth.[2] This development upset Caleb, who was a devout pacifist, and lead to them getting divorced after one last family camping trip to Luyten's Hoodoo Gorges on January 10, 2547. The divorce was completed just ten days later—coincidentally on Olympia's eleventh birthday. Nerina and her daughter boarded a diplomatic shuttle for Earth, but a slipspace drive failure led to the originally expected six day trip to take six months. Olympia would suspect her father of having somehow sabotaged the shuttle, but Nerina dismissed the idea so scornfully that Olympia concluded that it was a dumb idea. [1]

Nerina was killed during the Covenant attack on Sydney, Australia during the Battle for Earth in late 2552.
