Arkad Nar 'Kulul (born Arkad 'Kulul) is the Sangheili fleetmaster of the Fleet of Recalcitrant Ire.

Biography

Early career

Arkad 'Kulul was born on the colony world of Khael'mothka, and spent most of his early career in the Covenant military successfully rising through the ranks to attain the title of Shipmaster, known for his great tactical acumen. However, he was later assigned to an outdated Useumru-pattern voidpiercer following an incident during which 'Kulul caused minor offence to a steward of the Prophet of Tolerance, due to his lack of piety. Nonetheless, despite the setback he was able to slowly continue increasing his standing, with a particularly successful campaign against heretic pirates attacking Yonhet couriers bound for High Charity with recovered Forerunner artefacts.

Due to his success in this campaign, 'Kulul was reluctantly assigned the title of Fleetmaster (also changing his name to Arkad Nar 'Kulul in the process) and given command of the Fleet of Recalcitrant Ire, stationed on the outermost periphery of the empire. In this time, the fleet was tasked with the protection and oversight of the Covenant fringe species, and as a result saw very little action against humanity during the Human-Covenant War. While in command of the fleet, 'Kulul operated from a Syfon-pattern assault carrier, which served as his flagship.

Postwar

By mid-2553, 'Kulul and the Fleet of Recalcitrant Ire held position over the moon of Kostroda. Following a raid on the moon by the Banished, Enduring Conviction shipmaster Let 'Volir reported to have captured Atriox - the leader of the Jiralhanae raider group.

Fleetmaster 'Kulul instructed Let 'Volir to maintain orbit and await further commands. Around twelve hours later, 'Kulul personally hailed the Conviction to inquire as to the status of the prisoner. The only response he received was movement of the vessel that had not been authorized. One of his underlings, speaking for him, voiced indignation over this action and asked about Atriox again with an order to reply at once. Hearing nothing, this Sangheili warned that further silence would be interpreted as hostility. True to that threat, it was not long before 'Kulul directed his crew to turn there Assault Carrier on the Enduring conviction. It was able to evade the barrage levied against it from the fleet by making a pinpoint slipspace jump and then it left the system behind entirely. Fleetmaster Arkad Nar 'Kulul assumed that Atriox had somehow taken over the ship and that 'Volir had fallen, but in reality, he and his entire crew had willingly defected to the Banished cause.

Service with the Swords

After 'Volir's defection to the Banished, 'Kulul and the Fleet of Recalcitrant Ire allied with the Swords of Sanghelios under Thel 'Vadam, the Arbiter of the Sangheili. As a Fleetmaster for the Swords of Sanghelios, 'Kulul was involved in the protection of valuable resource worlds, and later aided in the transportation of the Ussan refugees from The Refuge to Sanghelios. This status lasted until the rise and subsequent defeat of the Created, with 'Kulul electing to stay put in the Urs system as to fend off attacks from actors like the Banished while the system was vulnerable.

In 2560, these fears proved true with the beginnings of a large Banished attack on Suban. During the battle, 'Kulul was tasked as one of the leaders of the Swords' home defence fleet at Sanghelios, and chose to initiate a combined-arms operation utilising Sword and allied attached Spartan supersoldiers of the United Nations Space Command. This was in part, due to the Sangheili reduced strength in the wake of the Blooding Years and Created uprising. During the battle, the Banished High Warlord leading the attack on Suban requested Shipmistress Mahkee 'Chava to relay a message to Nar 'Kulul from Let 'Volir, noting that Nar 'Kulul's former underling - who was now the leader of the Banished contingent stationed on the Ark - sent his regards.

Equipment

Fleetmaster Arkad Nar 'Kulul adorns a silver and grey standard combat harness. He additionally uses a Meluth'qelos-pattern energy sword.
